Well I will admit it. I let this truck go. It's been in storage for the past 4 years. Started 1-2 max per year. It's a 00 silvy ext with a 4.8L. It's got the KP 6 link, KP cups, DJM4" arms single 8gal tank and Slam Specialties EDC 1/2" SMC valves and a few other this and thats. I know the truck hold air and there is moisture in the lines but what all should be done to get her back on the road? It's going to be my spring/summer project. Just waiting on the work to get it out of storage. Truck was never fully finished when parked. I always talk myself into putting up forsale but as soon as I see her I can't! Reason I parked it was I cracked a rim (Kaotic A6 was the rim) and couldn't buy a replacement. After that I just kinda forgot about it.

ok so with back ground done this is what I think I wanna do.

-finish body work in box. Is it tacky to just bed line the inside of the box?
-buy new rims can't decide if I want 20's again or go to 22's. I don't have inner fenders and would tub the rear. What else is needed to clear 22's? Also which rims for her?
-I want to redo interior. It's charcoal int with the rubber work truck floor. I want to swap to a tan interior and color match dash 2 tone.
-keep Caddy clip>? or do the 00 HD front end>? if I swapped I'd do a fullllllll repaint to either a really dark root beer or black. If I keep color it needs a really good good wetsand. I made the mistake of telling the body shop I was going to wetsand it and asked for 6 coats of clear. They did a terrible orange peal job and wanted another $2000 for a wetsand. They screwed me cuz I called them out on adding the orange pearl to the PAINT not the CLEAR. I wasn't happy. But it is what it is.

I think thats it for now.

I got about 3 weeks to figure my shit out. These are the ONLY pics I have.

sorry readded pics:

if it were mine, i would finish tubbing the bed, and bedline it, if you pick a nice color that matches it will go well.

I would also get 20's and get something clean like a chrome boss 330's

i would keep the outside color and take it to a professional detailer to have it wetsanded and buffed, i know they can do a nicer job and for less than that body shop offered. as doe the interior, i would just get carpet and seats put in, color match a few things and leave the charcoal

I dont really consider Boss to be "clean". I would personally shop around and maybe pickup a set of used wheels. Honestly, as set of OEM 20's or 22's would look good with the colors and the caddy front. I personally hate that front end, but how much will you loose swapping it out? HD would be cleaner imo

IMO, I would tub the rear and bedline but would do 22's. I would also ditch the esky front clip and sell that and get yourself a full hd conversion which you could probably pick up for what you sell the esky clip for. Not sure what wheels you should go with though, I would worry about wheels after you redo the front clip to HD, and finish up the body work you need and tub the rear then choose your wheels. I would also get rid of the two tone and go with something else, black is nice but if not maintained it will look bad, the rootbeer color may look pretty good (dark brown with a orange tone to it is what I think of when it comes to a rootbeer color). Do HD front end, chrome wheels and esky handles and leave the hd grille chrome and colormatch the rest and would look good... Thats what I would do if it was my truck.

edit: also get some stock mirrors.

It's pretty clean as it is, I know people hate on Esky fronts being played out, but it's already in place and fits the truck pretty well. If it were me I would just leave it, change the rims, and if you really wanted to do something new, maybe just spray it again in a new color.

Not sure if I am feeling it anymore but it would be cheaper to keep the caddi clip. run it for a bit. I am thinking of selling the truck but after putting some MORE cash into it I don't think I will be able to. What offset and width should I be lookiing for with 22's?

I think the esky front end looks pretty good on there, an HD front end would look good also. I wish they would stop making Boss wheels. All in all it is a pretty good start on the truck and would address the issues that need it right at the moment and drive it.

Hmmmmm

Well if you keep the esky front, get the paint sanded and compounded so it looks good, have the bed sprayed in the beige line x, and run some 22" wheels of some sort.

If it were mine, Id put a 03-06 gmc front end and some 20" gmc wheels and repaint in said root beer. Or take the 01-02 hd front end swap, put on 22" Tahoe replicas`...u can borrow mine for fitment, and repaint in black.

Other option is just flat out sell it to me...?

Yes I'm from London, Ontario. Not far at all. I was up till 3am looking at bagged trucks this and that. I have a tight budget though of $3000 to get her in tip top shape. I'm thinnking of just having the cracked rim welded, polish them up best i can do a few other this and thats and just drive it for the summer. keep Caddi clip for now unless it sells. I just don't have a place to do EVERYTHING I want too. Got access to a hoist on sunday afternoons. Not alot of time to really rip into her.

Current DD is an 05 GMC 2500HD Diesel. Don't wanna take away from that. I'm gonna see what kind of deal I can get for an HD front. Perhaps they will toss in an LQ9 or 4 for me.
