Evo XR3.0 projectors
55w 6k Morimoto Kit

Sold a couple sets of OEM Replica projector housings for more than i paid in order to scoop this up for a net of +$50. Huge improvement and see all the hype of upgraded lighting.

Had its first "major" repair last week. Belt Tensioner bearing started to go, which in turn took out the alternator bearing, which in turn took out the water pump bearing. I heard a whurring sound of a bad bearing a while back but never thought much of it as it was very intermittent. Lesson learned.
Tallying repair costs for the 6yrs of ownership is ~$2k so not bad all things considered. Of course, everything happened outside of the warranty period 5yr/60k. First being the coolant Y connection which is a common issue and the mentioned crap shoot above.

Next is a new set of tires, likely a 285/55 Terra G2 if i can fit them and will need a retune due to the tire change. Outside of that, not much else planned.

IMO, reason why i havent went through with the temptation of the 4.5" spindle lift. Now, 4-5yrs ago may have. Find ourselves taking it back n forth from to TX to LA for family trips due to the cab size and still having to bring the dogs opposed to boarding them. The wife's GC gets a little tight now that we have the little one. Will need to replace her car once #2 is on the way.

need opinions on tires - Ridge vs Terra
285/50 or 285/55
Tough to find a leveled 2wd with the bigger 55 series beings its a ~34" tire.
This is 285/50 Terra on leveled 4wd Limited.

This is 285/55 on the same leveled 4wd limited platform

I anticipate to be ~1-1.5" shorter in height. I can remove the front bumper attachments and airdam for additional clearance if need be.
Only 3.55 gearing if that sways anyone decision.

If you’re an inch shorter, I would do the 285/50s. But I’d go with the Ridge Grappler. My buddy has them and loves them. They’re a stiffer tire than the Terras, I’ve never liked how “spongy” the Terras feel

+$300 for ridge vs terra in that size.
Never found the terras to have that feeling even in the lighter XL rated 305/45 i have now. The 285/50 would be 10ply E rated so the feel may be diminshed?

The Terras I drove on were 285/70/17 (dads work truck) and 305/50 or 55/20 (buddy’s truck) IIRC. Both E range, the 20s weren’t quite as bad but both times, I had comparable size Trail Grapplers on my trucks and the Terras just felt spongy, like the sidewalls were super soft. Felt like the truck was moving around more than it should. Not unsafe, I just didn’t care for it

Purchased the Oz Tuning Omega Tune during July 4th sale. This tune allows you to run any octane (e85 thru 93) and it automatically adjusts its parameters to add/retard timing. Not many miles on it thus far but very tame during DD driving but rips under WOT. Will try a few different octanes, since i can, to see the power differences.
Dyno shows good for +35whp/+30tq on 93oct.
