would like opinion on truck i just looked at

He doesn't want to sell until he gets his new 2015 HD.

Fuckin dammit. I waived 18k cash at him and he said he can't yet

P0700 is the opening to pandoras box. This code states that we have a trans problem ( all 700 codes relate to drivetrain) and you need to read on to find all the related codes. When I say read on, I mean scan further because P0700 only tells you which computer picked up the problem. In this case it is the TCM ( transmission control module).

Justin i am going to call the guy at 8pm tonight going to tell him i am willing to take the chance but i will have to have it for a weekend to go over it with a tech 2 reader to make sure its nothing crazy is there a way too let with a tech 2 reader where and what the P0700 code is ?

will be taking the truck for the night tomorrow and will check it all out with a tech 2 reader will let you know the codes ASAP

Just figure out what 700 code it is and post up

well problem, went in with tech 2 but we deleted the codes last time we checked them.
the only code that came back was glow plug #3 the tech 2 couldn't find any codes and since we checked it he put on 500km or so, so like 300 miles

also took truck for a drive smokes a tiny bit so probably has a tune
drives super nice lots of power
shifts super smooth
didn't have a single problem and drove it for about an hour

the guy also seem really honest, volunteer fire fighter and let me take the truck for the night to check codes and everything
i know that has nothing to do with the truck but makes me feel like he isn't trying to screw me

should i buy ?

Did you check tranny fluid color and smell? If I had it overnight I would have changed the spin on and cut it open and checked how much clutch material was on the magnet. If it was red and didn't smell burnt I would do it. Either he limped it once hot rodding or it limped like my EC did once on a downshift. Just be warned once you limp it once the trans is already damaged and it will happen again easier next time

Did you drive it constantly or run it through a few key cycles? Cuz codes usually take several key cycles to come back, so driving 300 miles straight doesn't do anything. Need to take it on a few short trips, and make a few stops. Doesn't sound like it's ragged tho
