Well I got tired of being lowered and wanted to get into a vehicle I didn't care so much about it. I decided that for dad duty and for the price it was very hard to beat a NBS Tahoe. I plan to do some simple mods to it and keep it very "normal". Seems like the more I mess with a vehicle the less I want to drive it and more I want to stare at it.

Here are the details:
2005 Bermuda Blue Z71 Tahoe with 134k
5.3, 4x4, with all options
Sunroof, Nav, DVD, rear captain chairs, and best of all 4.10 factory gears.

Plans are as follows:
Ford Keys, 1.5" Coil spacers, Bilstein 5100's (all ordered)
2" Wheel spacers
LED Interior upgrade (ordered)
Dynatech Muffler and Corsa tip
StrokerAce tune

After that I plan little cosmetic mods and to just clean it up really good. Right now it is "taken care of" but it isn't clean. Water spots, leather needs cleaning, stuff like that. Hopefully I will have some updates in the next few weeks. The pictures hide a lot of the "dirtyness of the truck" but once paint corrected it should be pretty decent. Here are the pictures.

Gotta love that dad life... Truck looks clean.

Wish my drivers seat looked like that!

Looks good, would definitely drive it, plans sound like a nice simple DD. Just soaking those dry ass plastics in a bathtub full of trim dressing would help a ton. What are the plans for wheels/tires?

I thought about cleaning the trim and spraying it gloss black with SEM bumper and trim spray. Either that or Krylon fusion spray paint. Both should give it a lasting and good black finish.

Right now for tires I plan to run 285/70 Toyo AT2's on factory wheels. I REALLY want LTZ truck 20s and 33s. I got a deal on 285/70's I just can't pass up this right now.

Right now it needs an alignment bad, so getting the leveling kit and an alignment done is first importance right now. I close on selling my house in 2 weeks so that's next most important. Once I get that and the alignment behind me, I should have free time to paint correction and finely detail it.

Sometimes it looks level, sometimes it looks like it has rake. Going to wait a week or two and if still raked I will change 1.5" spacer out for 1"

Bought used 285/70r17s today from local shop and they are horribly cupped out. I took them back this morning and now I have some choices to make.

I need new tires and I have always loved the bigger tires on stock z71 Tahoe wheels. There is a part of me that wants to go 20x10 and there is a part of me that wants to go with 20" Reps. I just have to decide if I go 17's with meaty tire, 20x10's or Reps

I'm like you..... I like the beefy look of oversized tires on stockers. And, I like the OEM 20" with a nice tire as well. :hmm:

Hence why I've got both sets to switch back and forth from.

I vote reps or stocks with spacers and beefy tires for ease of maintenance and simplicity

I finally decided that I really want stay economical price wise and stay at 20s I think. The 22s will always have me worried about curbs and such and my OCD can't handle it.

I love these wheels and always have. I think it will give it some pop without being overboard. Also doesn't hurt that I bought them for a smoking deal. Now I just have to find tires to go on them.

A few teasers. Ended up with 275/55 Terra grapplers. They look proportional in person, but might lower rear some and get some wheel spacers.

This is a better picture to show off the actual stance that it sits at. I am sure I could go bigger, but for the money and the stance I love it. Terra Grapplers ride awesome, it didn't weigh down and affect my performance, and I don't have to worry about trimming and hacking the fenders.

I actually ordered a 3/4" spacer to replace the 1.5" coil spacer that I have in there right now. I am not sure if my keys weren't indexed as much or not, but I am maxed out on the front end. (close to hitting droopstops, but still plenty of clearance to be ok for what I do)
