Dewey's 07 Classic Slow Build RCSB

A lot has changed in my life since posting here. Got married, school stuff and other things life tends to throw at you. Now the truck... Not so much haha. Did install 2" drop shackles today tho. The wife starts a new job in about a week and half that will double was she's currently making so that means I'll probably have more to spend on the truck ️ anyways.. Pics:

Ordered from The Suspension Source and used their Street Edge brand. Arrived quickly and install was pretty straight forward. Overall I'm happy with it even though it's basically just leveled. We measured up and it's less than .5" off. The rear is .399" higher than the front to be exact.

Next:

Trying to finish the 2/4 drop with hangers and spindles up front.

Black carpet to replace the shitty rubber flooring.

Would love to do a full console install. It's really just me and my wife that ever ride in it and could use some extra space with it as well as comfortability.

My keyless entry and remote start from viper fixed. I have the worst luck with it.

And power windows. Not sure what route to take and could probably use as much advice on that as possible. I don't want to mess with completely changing out the dash harness, bcm, etc.

For the power windows and locks, I'm planning on using 99-02 door panels & switches. Run power and ground to the switches and motors, and that's really it. The 99-02 switches have resistors built in, unlike the 03+ that goes through the bcm.

I once converted a WT to power locks, windows, and mirrors for a friend of mine. All the donor parts were from a 2000 truck. His truck was a 2001, but the process will be the same on any 99-06 if using 99-02 parts. Took me a whole weekend to do the conversion. The whole first day was spent trying to figure out all the wiring. Once I figured out how to connect everything, I had to make a harness to run across the dash to the passenger door. No connections to the BCM, and no reflash or replacing the BCM was needed. But what I did do was run a power wire straight to the main lug at the under hood fuse/junction block, I didn't feel comfortable just splicing into an ignition wire in the dash, because power windows can use a lot of power. I then used a 40a relay under the dash which was connected to an ign wire. That way it's actually pulling the curent straight from the under hood junction block, yet they still only power up when the key is on.
 
Thanks for chiming in Scott. I need to read up a bit more and learn about using relays, as I'm woefully ignorant as much as I hate to admit it.
 
You can do a LOT of stuff with relays. A relay is basically just a switch that is activated by an electrical circuit. That's why I used the ign wire to trigger the relay. But the relay was actually feeding straight from the junction block. The ignition wire strictly triggers the relay, which just like I said basically just switches the power on and off.
I have done some awesome shit with relays over the years. Everything from remote controlled locks and windows, to remote controlled power folding mirrors. I once even used a relays to cooling fans to my amp rack. The radio remote doesn't supply hardly any current, but it's enough to trigger an amp on, and enough to trigger a relay on that I had wired to two small computer fans.

I have been a member of that site since probably around 98 or 99 back when I used to install car audio and alarms for a living. I have learned a shit ton from that site and the other installers on there.

It did. The part of the dash harness that connects to the engine harness there were a couple of wires that don't match up. At first my check engine light wouldn't work and the battery light came on. I fixed the check engine light but can't fix the battery light. Also the your wipers won't work. I had to deal my wiper module with one from an 04. You will need one from an 05,06,or 07c and you won't have any problems.

Okay I'll remember that. I think I'm leaning toward that route. Would love to do the conversion soon
