I have a 2001 extended cab 2wd Silverado and I'm going to running some 10x2.5 ride tech coilovers and trying to figure out which spring rate to run with? It's my daily driver so not looking for super stiff but still want some stiffness to handle well. I don't have access for scales and don't want to order a bunch of sets cause of extra cost. Any ideas what to use to get me close and functional? I am thinking around 800's

Thanks Jared. I've read and posted on there a bunch and was able to figure which coilovers to get length wise. Just can't get a definite answer alon spring rate.

I went with a 850lb spring rate on my ecsb. 4.1 inch stroke combined with a 2 inch drop. Sits about a 5 inch drop, this setup gives you from 1-3 inches of drop from the coilovers alone. You need to reinforce your lower control arms or they will eventually break. If you need any pics or more info let me know.

I had 850 on 8" I believe. I would go longer for sure. Probably around 900. Just a guess though. Ecsb and ccsb are similar with the drop components and requirements

My setup gave me 6" easily up front with drop spindles. Going up to 5" would max it out and I wouldn't recommend it

Thanks for the info. I'm going with the 4.1 stroke on mine as well. Moore, how did you go about strengthening the stock lowers? If you could send me picture of your setup that would be super helpful rd69runer@sbcglobal.net Do you think I will be sitting at about a 3" drop with just the coilovers and stock spindles?
was an 850 spring a good ride? Looking for stuff enough to not smack the tire on the inner fender but not overly jarring

Here's how they're bolted in

Here's what happened when they broke while I was driving

And here's how they're reinforced

It rides significantly better than just drop springs. With just the coilovers you can probably get 3 inches or more of drop but the adjuster will have to be fairly close to the bottom

Awesome thanks for the pics. So you basically add d material under the holes for the mount and then the gussets correct? And up top did you have to add any strength?

Yeah he cut the threaded nuts off and welded a like u shaped piece of metal top and bottom and added gussets to the bottom.

Perfect. Is the top mount holding up ok? You didn't have to add any material for the top Delrin mount right?

Perfect man just the things I needed. Going ahead and order my setup and 850 springs tonight. Have to get some stock lowers so I'll drop them off at the machine shop to get re enforced right away. Thanks for the help

I'm only looking for 3" that's where I'm at now so I'll stay at that drop. You're sitting at 5"? With spindle I'm guessing as well
