Khaos' RCSB Thread

Also, not sure you have seen them, but there are center consoles that extend all the way that have the shifter through them. Saw one in a JG's or RST. I will try to find a pic

same here

I saw that 2/4 CC on what looked like VHO's you posted a pic on in fapbox earlier, looked like a good stance. Do eeeeet!

here is part of one...not the one I saw, and maybe it wasn't a factory option after all.

Stock Silverado console with a NV3500 5 speed custom mod. VERY COOL!

and after further investigation, you already know this....disregard what I said

I've seen it more commonly done with a T-56 6 speed tranny vs the NV3500. The side to side throw on the 5 speed is way more than that of the 6 speed, that's why that guy had to cut so much of the cup holder tray. Very cool though, good to know it can be done.

Not a huge update, but it is something. Got bored today and decided to candy my tails finally. I've had the VHT here for about 2 months

Still need to clear them, but I'm letting them dry over night first.

In other news, I moved all my drop parts to the other side of the garage (read, not in plain sight), so to make it slightly easier on me not being able to do it yet.

The biggest PITA is masking these off. I'll post some good pics after the clear + a good polish. I'm glad that I did them...I need shit to do to hold me over til I drop it

That thing dropped on factory 20s would be raw!!

Deff candying mine this week after seeing that! Haha

Do it man, it is really easy and makes a world of difference!

I have the drop in the garage, just waiting to go on. The 20's require cash I don't have to spend right now, so the mini 16's will have to do

Yup, VHT is what I used:

VHT Nightshades Redout

Supplies:

-VHT Redout
-Masking Tape
-Degreaser/Cleaner that cuts grease (to clean lights)
-Clear coat of some kind (my dad paints, so I cheated here and used his supplies)
-Plastic adhesion promoter (I couldn't find my can til after I sprayed a few coats, so I didn't use ANY)

Process:

- Cleaned Taillights with 2 applications of SEM Plastic prep and 2 applications of Adam's APC at full strength. I wanted to make sure as much wax and crap was off as possible.
- Masked off lights
- Spray your adhesion promoter now. I couldn't find my can til after, so I didn't use any. Allow applicable drying time
- Spray your VHT, allowing the proper dry time in between coats
I did 2 coats while everything was masked off, removed the masking tape on the red taillight and red reflector, and sprayed those 3 exposed sections a final time to help it blend.
- I let mine dry overnight before clearing (24ish hours to cure)
- I did 2 HEAVY/WET clear coats with my dad's gun. This is where you get the "shine" from.
- Let cure.
- I polished mine with a "finishing" polish and it didn't do anything, so you can leave it be or do a full polish, but BE CAREFUL TO NOT BREAK THROUGH THE CLEAR!

Install and look baller :datass:

A few things to note: I notice that doing 2 coats just on the amber lens left a slightly raised surface. Wetsanding may have helped this, but idgaf

Any other questions or pics y'all need, just ask.

No updates, more of a pointless bumpdate.

Planning on lowering the truck the week of August 20th along with getting the Magnaflow installed and routed properly. If I feel ambitious at the time, I may take the console out while the truck is apart and prep & paint it. Maybe to the cluster led's too. But that's wishful thinking now. I was talking with my dad about when to fix the bed & paint it and I decided to say fuck it and leave it til after college. The paint will just get abused there in the parking lot anyway.
