Not hating, its a cool idea.. just not really for me I guess lol

Expressing your opinion, even if negative, is not "hating", its simply your opinion. I wish people would realize this before they call people "haters"

Sounds so ignorant to call someone a hater if they happen to have a difference of opinion.

ok gentlemen, can you school a n00b for a minute? i got my truck 2 weeks ago after being in a ford ranger, and that was a prerunner so the lowered life is new to me.

truck is a '12 ccsb 5.3. i do use it for towing (occasionally, flat bed w/ truck on it) and hauling (pallets up to 600lbs). i was looking into a 4/7 or 5/7 with helper bags. what other mods will i need to do? upper control arm to get the truck to align? no holes need to be cut in the bed, and i do not need a notch right (according to the sticky in here)? i was hoping to put the truck on 20's or 22's. as for bags, are there kits specifically meant for lowered trucks? i was looking at this kit in particular, with the belltech street performer struts and rear shocks.

thanks everyone for your help.

You will be fine with no notch and helpers, no need to cut the bed(maybe just the support that runs directly above the axle bit nothing more), yes they have helper kits made for lowered trucks(search mcgaughys helper kit), depending on your camber when its dropped most guys can get them to align with camber bushings in the stock ucas or camber keys
Edit- btw good job searching for this thread instead of making a thread just for those questions :shake:

cool thanks for answering so quick. i've been on forums for awhile, and mod a few so i know damn well to search first and ask questions in pre-existing threads if at all possible lol.

at least with mcgaughys they have a supplier a couple of minutes from my house, which is nice. is there any real advantage of one brand to the other between mcgaughys stuff vs belltech or TSS? personal preference? seems like i've found most say the ride is basically stock in a cc with the belltech shocks anyways. i don't remember seeing anyone say 'oh Brand X's kit is better than Brand Y or Brand Z because..."

Not really any "better", I have a mixture of belltech and mcg on mine..its really just personal preference and what you find better deals on imo main upside to mcgaughys helpers, they are made to bolt to the notch buy since you don't plan on notching it really wouldn't matter anyway
