I hope you have the newer tailgate cables. I snapped mine pulling a big utility quad up into the bed. By far the closest I've ever come to shitting my pants without actually shitting them.

My dad had the cables pop on his obs tailgate and the gate slammed against the bumper and left a crease across the whole thing.

Damn, id deff shit myself if mine broke lol. Mines an 03 so whatever cables came stock on it are the ones i have ,wouldnt have to put the qaud on the tailgate but fgt stepside isnt wide enough.

It happened on my 03 Z71 with the factory cables. Left a crease like Jacob described. There was a recall on the cables and I got new ones for free.

Why you all assume? Guess its not well enough known that I work at the GM dealership. This is one we put on demo. The truck on the trailer is the dealerships too. Packs a touch of HP with a new LS3 crate.

Tell you what though I would have one of these new 14s. So quiet, easy to drive, full of technology, and that 5.3 gets up and moves! 6.2 should be fun when they come out.

BTW I would buy an X31 All Terrain truck too. Think Id rock chrome? :nono:
