My buddy's got a '97 2 door hoe and it needs a brake switch put in it. I can see the switch up in the pedal box and from the research I've done, everybody says it just takes 10min to replace but none of them elaborate on how to do it. I cannot for the life of me figure out how to get to it, the steering column is in the way as well as the pedal box.

The problem is, there's a clip that holds the pedal rod in the switch and that has to come off first. There's a little window between the pedal box and steering column that you can see through from the passenger side. I can see the clip, but I can't get a tool in there to get it off. Plus I've never seen a clip like that in my life so I'm not sure how it works either.

Any tips/tricks? I'm almost to the point of pulling the column out of the truck to do it. That's the only way I can see at this point :pissed:

Google it. There are how tos. I've done it. Either be a contortionist with odd tools, or get it up in the air where you can lean over in the floorboard and work. I'll come do it for a mustang. :troll:

:bertstare: All they say is "there's a window you can get through from the passenger side and it takes 10 min". We were trying it in the parking lot of his apartment complex, I was all up in under the dash contorted and shit lmao. He had limited tools tho, so he's gonna bring it to my house next weekend and we'll try again.

How does that clip work? I've never seen that one before, it goes 100% around the shaft with no gap and the I don't wanna just pry it/tear it off cuz we've gotta reuse it.

**oh yeah, please do come fix it. I'd be happy to let ya drive home in the stang. just bring 25 Gs with ya lol
