New Whip!!

Nah, that's part of what I don't care for on this car. I miss my bright ass colors. Had a dark blue '79 Malibu, a bright blue '87 IROC, that yellow '94 Mustang, my red Silvy and then this gray thing....DNW grey. Black is the only non-bright color I'd consider

Oh really? I love dsg, dfw mystic cobra too though..wouldn't mind red or silver
My favorite colors on the termis are sonic blue, dark shadow grey an mystic

Yeah, don't know why. Don't get me wrong, I like it, but it's just not for me as far as far as owning one. :want: Sonic Blue. That or Canary Yellow like my old car or Crystal White or Vibrant Red (the really orange one) all look ab-so-fucking-lutely amazing on a 94-98

Fuck all that, dark shadow grey or white only. The rest :gtfo:

Wrong, Mistychrome FTW

Went and looked at the supposed "cheeeeeppp" cobra today. It's a co-worker's uncle's car. It ain't cheap enough. It's a 96 or 97 (the owner wasn't there, was talking to his brother and I forgot to look in the door) real Cobra, black with tan leather. ~130k miles (broke odo). Was originally told it was "really nice" and "the only issues are the broken ODO and the pass window needs a motor". Yeah. Right.

The whole interior is trashed, the seats have never been conditioned so they're fucked, the carpet it toast, the steering wheel's coming apart, and the power drivers seat track is dead. And all the tint needs to be redone cuz it's peeling. The clutch is stiff as FFFFUUUUU and out of adjustment, the Trac Lok rear end needs to be rebuilt (one rear tire was in the dirt backing up the driveway just spinning and the other not doing shit), tires are bald as shit, needs brakes and then it ran outta gas on me :bertstare: So I just parked it at this point.

The positives, it's a real Cobra, not terribly high mileage, only flaws on the body are a ding in the drivers door and some flaking paint on the front bumper from a parking curb. The motor ran great, sounded awesome thanks to an offroad X and flows, trans seemed ok as far as I could tell from driving it in the yeard. It also as some nice Wheel Replica 18x9/10 Bullitts on it and sub-frame connectors.

He's wanting $4k for it, saying that he's already taken into account the "flaws" (remember, odo and window motor lol). I'm gonna talk to the co-worker tomorrow and tell him what I saw/felt. I wouldn't go a dime higher than $1500 and that's PUSHING it. Not sure I'm even comfortable with that car at all. The interior is the main issue as well as the clutch, the rest can be cleaned pretty easy and I was gonna do the rear end anyway. I think I might grab it IF I can get it for a grand. But I doubt it

Damn, looks/sounds a little rough to say the least but if you could snag it for 1000-1250 I would say you are doing pretty good imo
Most of that shit could be fixed or replaced without spending a ton I would think

That's what I'm thinking, a grand and I'll bring it home, otherwise I'll walk. Like I said, it's mainly the interior. I'd go ahead and convert it all to black, I live less than 30min from Mustang Parts Salvage so I should be able to do that pretty cheap. But I doubt he'll bite on the grand offer....the search continues

Somehow I dont think he'll take a quarter of what hes asking. Especially considering the way he takes care of his stuff, and his appraising skills

^I agree, which is why I just passed without even making an offer. Funny thing is, I copied that post about the black car and put it up on SVT Performance to get their opinion and got FLAMED BIG TIME. They're all bashing the hell out of me saying I'm a douche and that the car is worth every bit of $4k :roflsquared: I mean, I'm an SN Mustang fan boy too, but I'm realistic as well. There's just no way

you guys would love if i posted a pic of a mystic chrome mustang sitting at work. fucking screw going through the front bumper holding it on and then painted over. scratches dents, seen a fucking cockroach sitting on the armrest. and this is a termi too, not a 96. wanna beat the shit outta the guy lol. people that treat shit that bad dont deserve to have something that nice imo.

also little fun fact for the day. dont know if some of you guys knew this, but supposedly the 96 mystic chrome only (id assume, since they made the paint again in 04) was a pretty big problem when they got wrecked. the problem was with the government, supposedly the paint had the same pigments in it as what they used to make money and could be used to make counterfit money. governments fix, if you gonna paint it back the same color, they took all the materials that would have had overspray on it, left over paint etc. even went as far as trying to get people to repaint their car a different color supposedly.

^Yep, all that is true. It used to be that you had to give them the VIN of the car and show the title just to buy the paint. Idk when exactly, but that finally stopped a few years ago, you can buy the paint through PPG now
