My new build - Need help with ideas 2001 GMC Sierra 1500

Thinking about having a friend build me something like this.... im not sure if I want to sub in the front like how it is in the pic, or on the top

The sub on top will make it hard to use as a arm rest. I'd personally have it fire towards the back wall, ports up if its ported.

Was gonna say the same, I've had a sub box with the sub firing up and everybody and their momma who rode in it would set shit on top of the sub..have it firing towards the back wall imo

picked up a set of 4 oem fender flares off craigslist for $40 :success: will be color matching those along with mirrors and door handles this weekend i hope.... and i also ordered a dynomax super flow ss muffler, should get here friday or saturday

this but put a grille of some kind over the ports so you dont end up with a pop can in your sub box lol

Nice find. Color match flares, handles and mirrors. Then do something about that grille shell! Get a chance 03+ stock one. That would really clean up the front end imo

Thats the plan. Im looking for an 03+ parts truck that hasnt been hit in the front or isnt a w/t... it seems they dont exist around here haha

Haha im thinking about buying a few cans of plastidip to make it black instead of the grey it is

Okay cool, ill get that instead. If i get the duplicolor do i need the adhesion promoter as well?

Not necessarily but like the name it promotes adhesion of the paint to the plastic which is pretty important for front end parts especially because of all the stress from bugs, rocks and road debris hitting the front. I would say for 6 or 7 bucks more its definitely worth it especially for you since your truck sees some trail time. Will keep the paint more resistant to chips
