okay so i have to replace the multifunction switch and i was trying to see how hard it was to remove, horn worked fine before messing with anything, anyway i put it all back together and the horn wouldnt work, so me and my buddy worked on it last night and pulled the airbag out and checked wires and nothings wrong, (idk if maybe its a problem with the clockspring behind the airbag or what) we put it all back together with no horn success and when i was driving i had to push the airbag/horn spot with alot of force and it worked.

today i get home after not driving it all day and i unlock it and try the horn and i barely push it and it works like normal, then i get in it to leave my house and the sum bitch is back to "push with muscle"

my fuse isnt blown and the relay cant be bad or it wouldnt honk at all, im so confused as to what to do!

its the clock spring, thats where it makes the connection for the horn to honk, basically when you push on it, it makes the connection.

pull it out again and check that it is all where its supposed to be, that the metal has a clear path to make a connection. I may have time later to take a picture, if you cant figure it out.

well thats what i figured it was ill have to wait to fuck with it bc my radiator is finally giving out so i gotta get that fixed and this weekend ill try to look at it again and see whats goin on

i have the 95+ column with airbag, oh sorry ya its square column

Might be the clockspring then. I know how to work on the old round colums, I had to tear into those countless times on all the GM vehicles myself and all my brothers used to own. Those were pretty easy to work on, just tight as fuck inside the column.

ya when me and my buddy where takin it apart to get the airbag out he found it easier to undscrew the back cover on the steering wheel to move the tiny clips that hold the bag in place......would have been better if the whole cover would have came off but he found it easier so i let him do his thing and fix it!
