Important!: 2009 Pontiac G8 GT build thread!

the DOD delete is a cam plus a few other things, but I wouldn't say "nasty". I don't want anything too damn aggressive. You can "tune" out the DOD, but I haven't really read up much on it, it doesn't actually do much from what I read.

All this will come down to me selling the truck and picking up a cheaper DD car. My in-laws have an Accord that they may get rid of cheap. If so, I can use it while the G8 is down. I'm in no rush. I still need to find a local tuner who can be ready when I need him.

True, don't wanna go too extreme for a DD. But definitely something with a little lope. Remember Crunk (I think was his SN)? Idk if you're friends with him on FB but he's got a new Camaro and just put a cam in it to get rid of the DOD. Didn't sound "nasty" but it's got a nice lope to it, sound plenty good and streetable
 
Blackbear did. But I want a local tuner to assist with any quirks. Street and dyno tune it.

Yeah the auto camaro has DoD. Brian Tooley will take care of me when the time comes.

Was gonna say, thought it was BB. Local is great for quick adjustments and availability :imo:
 
I stand corrected on the DOD delete actually. You can in fact delete the setup without a cam it looks like.

I am dying to do some sort of mods. Nothing extreme. I need to get new leds for the exterior and HID bulbs. It has janky blue lights that I refuse to run!

word, DOD delete is more than most people think. Unfortunately disabling it in the tune wont prevent any of the problems they are know to have with DOD.


Jared, people go with pretty radical cams in cars because they are alot lighter than trucks and dont need the low a truck does so to say. You'd be surprised the difference in what the car guys call big compared to the truck guys.
