1999 GMC RCSB 4x4 Build..4/6, motor work and much more

Got the motor tore down yesterday. Got it all painted up today and should have it back together tomorrow. Just waiting on the heads to get back and the motor will be done.

The thing was spotless. I forgot how easy they are to tear down. Had it stripped in about an hour.





 
yes sir thats the plan. All i did so far was spray them with TB cleaner and wipe them down. Didnt put much effort into it yet haha.
 
Getting the motor back together. Just waiting on the heads to get done and I should be all set on the motor. Hopefully get the shift kit put in the trans and get the input swapped in the tcase this weekend. Shit might get the motor pulled next week.

Getting closer. Circle D converter came in today. Also my Comp Trunion Upgrade. Got the shift kit installed in the trans this weekend as well. Hopefully get my heads back tonight and have the motor finished up in the next few days. Just a matter of pulling the old stuff and dropping everything in now.

Got ambitious last night. Got the motor finished up and got the truck tore apart. Motor is about an hour away from being ready to pull.

probably if I get the chance to do it. Its not terrible, just havent sprayed it down since I got it. I wish I knew what color the truck was going to be so I could paint it. I may just do it black as that will be good with white or silver. We will see when I actually get it pulled out and the timeframe im working with.
 
got the T case out, man what a bitch! After I got it out, all 20 so of the bolts that hold the case together were so rusted that they didnt really have edges. Had to hammer a smaller socket on every god damn bolt. Finally got it apart after about 2 hours.

Got everything done besides the last snap ring that holds the input shaft and gears into the case. I cant get that bastard off. I dont have a set of the special horseshoe snap ring pliers, and I broke my nice craftsman ones trying to get it apart. Have to regroup on that today after work.

excuse the messy floor, we just got 4" of rain so everything got wet and the frost is still coming out of the ground.Fun

Hopefully get the motor pulled tonight, running by next weekend.

got some bigger snap ring pliers from work and got the t case almost done on lunch. Just gotta get some RTV and shes good.
 
nice, coming together quick, give her a good wash down before reinstalling or clean it and paint it silver
 
ya ill see what I can do on it. getting sick of grease and ATF lol


Got the motor out last night. Need to run new fuel lines as the current ones are crusty as hell. Might as well with everything out. Also going to clean up what I can before putting everything back in.
