Huck's 2006 Sierra Crew

Nothing, I could fit everything in a swing case. I just personally like low pro over the rail boxes best

Can't paint rail/gate caps cuz I'll fuck em up bad. I actually use my bed and I always gouge/scratch the fuck out of them. A fresh coat of Krylon fusion satin black every year is all I'll do. I can't carry around everything I want to right now cuz my amps/subs have 80% of my storage space plus tools and shit rattle and would drive me nuts in the cab. Can't handle it. So toolbox is needed

I use my bed every day for work, i just mind where I lean/step/put things.
I have full size box under back seat and an amp behind the seat.
And my tool kit doesn't rattle nor do the straps
And you have more cab space than I.

Broblem? :troll:

Yeah see I throw shit, slide shit across the rails, pallets, stack shit on top, etc etc. Same reason I won't shave my gate, I'd break that inside handle in a heartbeat. Where do you keep all that shit? In the floor? I have room under 1 rear seat for a few straps, tire gauge and that's about it

DFW swing cases i hardly use my truck as a truck... hell i have a dezul and haven't towed anything with it for more then 15 mins....i think tool boxes are decent but on a short box it looks funny since it makes the bed look short. if i had a rclb i would need a tool box to make it look proportional.

get a black super low profile box and it will look good.

Actually the crew cab has less room behind/under seat than an ext cab does. :themoreyouknow:

Tool kit, jumper cables, and roadside kit stay behind the seat, strap bag is in the bed or on the floor of back seat, tow strap and extra hitch is in the bed.

I said he has more CAB SPACE :read:

Agreed, it does look slightly odd on a CCSB but yes will be black lowpro so it blends in
More room under your backseat then I've got :okay:

And to Aaron there's no way all that would fit in my truck. Had to put jumpers in my room. I wanna be able to carry small tool kit, ratchet straps, tow strap, jumpers, jack and have extra room for other shit if needed.

I'll take a pic of my only storage spot when I get off work and y'all will see how little room I actually have without cramming stuff around my amps or leaving it in the floor

I'm gonna join in and say I dislike the over the rail box look on a shortbed too, but for someone who actually uses their truck to work out of, I went with an over the rail box because I slide stuff underneath it all the time. I'd hate my life if I had a chest box and couldn't use the front 2' of my bed at all. I will say that in my experience the paint on toolboxes is not quality like the truck's, so if you get a black one keep it waxed or it will look like doodoo pretty soon. Are you getting a smooth box or diamond plate? Because I would suggest color matching it to the white truck, black won't be bad either with the black bed rail caps on the mini beds.

I had an under the rail box that sat in the bed in all of my trucks. When I got my nnbs it wouldn't fit so I got a low profile over the rail and liked it.

Yeah I'm not crazy about the look of the over the rail on a super short bed but a chest isn't an option cuz I want to be able to quickly remove if needed (i.e. load of mulch, moving big stuff with little notice to be able to borrow a trailer, etc). Not to mention being able to slide stuff underneath, I'm not getting the super deep one for that reason.

No I don't carry a huge amount of stuff but I like the security of a metal box and to be able to carry all my crap plus throw boots in there or whatever else I want out of the weather but not in the cab.

You're right about the powder coat being crap, I had to wax my UWS on my old truck 2-3 times as often as the truck. I'll be getting a diamond plate box, colormatching might be cool on a darker color but it's the same problem as CM'ing the rail caps, I'll ruin it. But black rail caps/black box against the black rear window, you'll hardly notice it.

Me and Tony have also talked about doing away with the rail caps and bringing the LINE-X over the rails and down to the bodyline where the caps stop. That way I'm not constantly replacing busted or warped caps. Mine are all kinds of warped right now

i have all that in my passenger side swingcase lol

This is the only storage I have inside the truck now thanks to the sub box and amps

I kept the same stuff in the truck when I had the ccsb.

HD crews have different floors than the 1500 do, the 1500 have a huge 5" tall hump against the back wall that the HD trucks do not.

If you get a bedliner it might blend in even better. Still don't like the box idea but just trying to minimize the redneck here.

How can you bring the line-X over the bedrail caps, isn't there a seam and weird shape underneath those caps?

It does have a funny line where the cap meets the bedside. James's old blue ccsb(Ryan has it now) had it done like that and it wasn't that bad but his was a dark truck, might be more noticeable on a lighter color though.

White line-x over the rails, black in the bed. Aw yeah!!

I keep a 4 way lug wrench, 7 ratchet straps, 16' jumper cables, hitch, d ring and a few other small tools in my swing case, theres still room for even more crap but its already starting to get rubs and sratches on it from me throwing shit in the bed.
