flip outs

I'd do the double din conversion if it were me. But the one you picked doesn't look too bad.

Yeah i know flip outs arent ideal but i cant bring myself to buying that expensive DIN conversion piece to mold in, plus with a DIN its visible from the outside looking in, with the flip out this has the bottom piece removable. im going to try and install it today (wednesday) and get it working,

Here's a little update, haven't really done much due to having to put down my family dog of 13 years friday, went down to the city for her to get groomed, she had been acting sluggish wednesday all day and wasnt herself. After she was done at groomer they said they had trouble keeping her standing, took her to the vet and the dr took blood found out her blood cell count was 23.7 when it should be closer to 40, shes had a heart murmur for a long time and had been on medicine for it. We knew it would gradually get worse, well it was worse then ever and her kidneys werent functioning right and she was really weak. They had to keep her overnight and put her on an I V and when we went back friday we found out her blood cell count only went up to 24.5 overnight. When we walked into the room she was so excited and tried so hard to get on her feet and show us "hey I'm ok lets go home" but she couldn't even get up. She had been losing her sight and hearing and with being how old she was we didn't want her to suffer so we had to put her down. One of the toughest things is not having her run to the door when we get home tail wagging or race out to the mailbox to get the mail. Shes in a better place.

Only update is installation of the flipout, nice unit, Very pleased with the overall performance of it. Even has a half detachable face.

faceplate removed non functionable due to the power/source button is on the piece removed

Faceplate,

Sorry to hear about your dog bud. I had to do the same thing back in February. They really are a part of the family and it's tough to do. But you guys made the right decision with her comfort and health in mind.

Thanks for the kind words man, its tough, you really realize how big of an impact a little dog can really have on someone. From the things we thought were irritating that the animal did we now miss bc they aren't there. She could always make us laugh from either sleeping in a laundry basket or halfway burrowed under blankets and pillows with her paws, butt, or head sticking out. Ha just thankful to still have memories

Havent updated much, been working with the guy who restored my dads 69 charger, kept pretty busy.

Alright so I am putting together a list for my lift, wheels, tires, tbar relocators, shocks, etc.

I'll start off with what I'm wanting.

I already have rims picked out, XD Badlands 20x9 Chrome

Tires- Really want TOYO MTs but thinking perhaps something a little more wallet friendly. Opinions?

I'm looking into the RCX 6 inch lift since everything I've read it will stand up to what I plan on doing with the truck (not a big offroad crawler rig)

Shocks- The RCX is supplied with shocks either the Premium N2.0 or Performance N2.2, not sure the difference or ride quality?
I know the Bilstein 5100s are reputable and I really want to get them but the specs on them shows the front shocks are for 4-6inch lift (works) but the rear were only showing 2-4inch lift, meaning they wouldnt fit with the 6 inch lift?

Already decided on the realift tbar relocators to avoid them hanging down.

Will I need longer brake lines or anything that will need to be lengthened due to the lift?

As far as gears go, I'm a total air head, I believe I have 3.73 gears? Could be wrong, but I want to do everything I can to reduce strain on my (less than 20k mile motor) and (less than 10K mile trans) any recommendations? I would say my driving is a mixture of highway and city probably 60/40 highway over city.

If anyone of yall could give me some knowledge and help me out I'd really appreciate it, I'd like to know what I need beforehand so I can do some pricing on the extra things, Shocks, brake lines (if necessary) etc

Sorry to hear about your dog, but on a lighter note the truck is looking nice. My first silverado was a 95 ECSB, I loved it.

Thanks man, its been pretty hard not having her run to the door when we get home or having her perform her tricks for a treat. Truck is a work in progress, has a bunch of little things that get to me but everyone has em about their truck

Yes 5100 will work, look at Superlift, they also have a 4-6" bracket kit for OBS that already comes with 5100s for about the same price as RCX + 5100s
