De-Redneckification of Mr Pate's 03 Duramax

Do you use a drop hitch and weight distribution hitch when pulling camper?

Yes I have a drop hitch with weight distribution. Hitch could probably be a little bigger but it tows it fine.

From this past weekend. 2wd sucks but until I get the axle swapped and matching gears I'll just live with getting stuck and throwing mud everywhere lol

Lol yea I think I know him. Right now we are building the site. We also need to order more hats and shirts lol

It's only on his back window in huge letters and on the yeti lol

Yeah i though he mentioned that it was his friends business, thought maybe that he was a billboard for cheap parts or something. Missed the yeti.

But srs, no site, would love to buy a hat. Can't afford anything else they sell lol.

Dibs? He's selling them, not giving them away. You don't call "dibs" on something he's selling.

lol hopefully itll be up soon.

Truck is down again, took the tie rod bar, tow hooks, and sway bar end links to get chromed.

Also how does chrome hold up when done to the leafs? Thinking of doing every other chrome and teal.

I've seen it done, but never seen any comments on the durability. I'd ask the place that does your chrome what they think.

That and they might know what kind of stress you can put it through before experiencing blemishes and whatnot.

Well here's how I look at it James, people powder and chrome coil springs all the time, and it stays on for a while, but it will eventually start to crack and flake because chrome is a hard coating. In a leaf spring application it looks stellar, but I would not do it because it's impossible to clean between the leafs and after some time it starts to look shitty. I have seen all sorts of combo's, some will always look good, and some only look good for a short time after it's put together because of the inability to be cleaned and properly maintained.

Correct, I plan on redrilling the hubs to 8x6.5

Since you are still running the af's I assume you did this.
Did you just plug weld the holes in the hubs and rotors and then drill them out?
I may have missed this but did a rear SD axle ever end up under your truck?

Never did redrill the hubs just ended up using spacers/adapters. Also super duty rear axle isn't under it yet either.

But got sway bar end links, tow hook, and tie rod bar back from chrome and they look awesome.

Put it all back together and realized somehow the bushings on the axle where the link arms mount worked their way out. So put them back in and went for a drive and somehow the truck has death wobble again. Not really sure how this is possible since the only thing I did was get some chrome done. So truck isn't driving again and not sure what the cause of it is this time. But here are pics

In that picture, it may be the lighting but it looks like your front tires are feathered bad, have you tried running any other tire setup to see if its the tires or the suspension causing the shake?
