Trans temp sensor

So. Me and my buddy were talking tonight and he brought up a good point about Esky/Nali/etc gauge clusters.

He's got an 03 Z71 that did not come with the towing package and doesn't have a trans cooler. If he puts in an Esky cluster, will the trans temp be able to be programmed?

I know it's still got the sensor for the idiot light but I didn't know if something would be different since there's no cooler setup.

It should work just as a plug-n-play deal, but I have read about it not registering the temp at all. IIRC, James' blue CC has issues with it (could be wrong, but I definitely remember someone on here having trouble at some point)

YMMV, but it wouldn't hurt to try. Worse case scenario is you have a cool cluster upgrade and have to get it programmed.

:shake: Thanks fellas, worst case is I buy it off him if it doesn't work lulz

Yeah, mine worked with the SS cluster just had to plug it in. I've only heard of one other person that had to have it programmed and it was on a 02 rcsb work truck.

Yes I doo :happeh:

Well. Have a small cooler on the driver side for power steering fluid and one in the middle which im assuming is ttans cooler

if u have a Bluetooth obd2 adapter and torque app, u can read the trans temp if the sensor is there. If u get info on that, cluster should be plug n play
