Tire Size Calculator

Calculating tire size is a rather simple concept. Sure its easy to get on the internet real quick and find the answer, but sometimes you dont always have it on hand. Tires that have metric sizing can look confusing to read, but in actuality it just takes a few simple calculations. 265/70R17 is a common tire size. what this means is 265=width of tire in mm + 70= percentage of width (finds sidewall height) + R17= rim size in inches.

By taking this information we find the tire size by taking 256mm (10.43") + 185.5mm (7.301"x2..we double this measurement to account for top and bottom part of sidewall) + 17" = 31.6" overall tire size.

mm to inch conversion= 25.4mm is equivalent to 1"

I hope i do not confuse anyone with this, i tried to make it as straight forward as possible.

I am getting a 2 inch leveling kit from rough country and I'm running 285/75/16s but after the lift I want new rims and tires . Trail grapplers and fuel boosts. But, idk what size tire to get ... 285/75/16 or 295/70/17... What would look better ? In the near future I'm getting a 1.5 body lift also

I'd personally at least up to the 17's and the 295's would look good on there.

What's a good 295/75/16 mud tire ? .. I dont wanna have to buy new rims I have 16s but 285/75/16 aren't big enough they will look dumb on my level kit I need ideas guys !

Hey guys back again lol I seen a pic of 315s on a level kit but they aren't that wide . I want like 285/295 width but want the tire to be taller what size do I get
