Project RAT-OUTA-HELL

Got the new wheels in! Wheels are Fuel Hostage 20x14 and 20x9. The front tires are a bit short for my liking so I will most likely switch to some 275/45R20 tires which should give me about 1 inch more height than the 275/40R20.

I own a precision rifle company so this truck will have a sort of military theme to it hence the sharp "edgy" black wheels. Final color of the truck will most likely be flat tan with satin black accents.

Now time to take the bed off and tub the back!

Time for some updates!

I removed the bed and cut the back of the old frame off last weekend. I thought this would take longer than it did so I did not buy any steel for the frame. I had this done by Saturday afternoon. So much for the long weekend...

This weekend I got the steel for the back of the frame and started cutting and assembling!

I made the bed mounts out of extra frame material.

Now I am waiting for the axle housing to get here...

Got the rear end set up on Thursday. Specs on the diff are:
Yukon third member
Richmond 4.33:1 gears
Strange 35 spline spool
Moser 35 spline axles
Billet yoke and pinion support (don't know the brand...)

Started this afternoon installing the rear axle. Picture shows the top links installed. Still waiting for some of my lower link brackets to show up... I screwed up and put the shock mount cross tube directly over the diff so it had to be removed. I will clean it up and weld in the new frame cross bar. Fuel cell is mocked up for proper location.

you should put a super short bed on it!

Maybe i skipped it but 275/40s over the 45s, 45s are just too big of side wall i think for 5'' up front, also hows the offset with those wheels up front, will you need shorter arms?

keep it up, this is awesome!

Progress update:

I got most of the fuel system put on this weekend. I had to order a couple more AN fittings for the return line but that should be done this week.

I custom built some fuel tank straps and got the fuel cell installed.

I also got the shocks installed and the panhard bar put on. The truck is sitting on its own now!

Next week I will disassemble everything and get it all painted nice! I hope to be able to move the truck under its own power as well!
