Okay i want to paint the honey comb part on my grill. I want to paint it black, its grey right now. What paint and prep should i do. I know the honey comb part is notorious for water marks.
I was thinking of just getting le flat black, and spraying it.
I never really paid attention to mine, Id just go the adhesion promoter way, and some black.. no need to clear i would think. Mine is gray as well. Just not on the priority list at the moment. Do not want to scuff every little honeycomb
Yours looks gloss black and you can tell it, lol. I did mine in a metallic deep grey color and love it.. Its just enough to look black but up close its more of a dark grey with flakes in it.
I did mine, scrubbed with a course brisle brush and dish soapy water. Krylon fusion satin black, no real prep so I will be interested in seeing how it lasts.
I had my entire grille painted white. Taped off around grille, sanded honey comb down then used black spray paint from the dollar store. Over a year no problems. I use in and out spray every so often to freshen it up a bit.
Why? Remove, clean, mask chrome, spray, reinstall, done. Literally no harder than my NBS grille except you dont have any goofy ass shapes around the bowtie thus making masking easier
