Need some help installing HD cap.

I got lucky and found a new HD cap at LKQ. So now i need some help with the install. I have heard that the bumper mounts need to be cut and re-welded, but idk how much to cut and how much to lower or even where to cut. If anyone has a how to or even some pics that would help.

I just installed mine on my 2500HD, was simple and straight forward. But my bumper was already spaced for it. I'm sure once you get the bumper off it will make more sense.
 
Lowering the bumper about 1-3/4" should be perfect to leave a small gap under he parking lights, smaller gap that stock, but won't looked stuffed. My cousin just did the swap, and I will be too. He said once u take the bumper off, what u need to cut basically slaps u in the face cuz it's self explanatory

Alright thanks man. Can u get some pics of the brackets how they were re welded.
