Mettalikatt's 2004 Sierra

Soo. yet ANOTHER setback with the Heim Tie Rod fitment from FFR. First the spindle posts were too short, so I ordered longer ones, only one arrived from USPS... Govt. can't do anything right. Anyway, it doesn't matter because the 5/8" spindle posts (where the tie rod goes) that stock and RCX spindles use, McGaughy's doesn't! McGaughy's tie rod holes are freaking HUGE! So, I'm going to order an extra tie rod from McGaughy's and send it to FFR to custom fab ANOTHER set of posts. Here's a terrible MS Paint illustration of my problem.

On another note, the shop's office is filling up with all new stuff! I picked up the lift today, and it appears to be all there, so that's good news.

Also These Add a Leafs, and 4.5-5" Rear blocks are for sale

Front brake backing plates also came today, but no pics

LoL, how in the hell would their knuckles be different? They have to be made to use OEM tie-rod ends, at-least I would assume anyway. Hopefully you can get this done in a timely manner, unlike my build. Can't wait to see it done...

yeah, they wont' accept an OEM tie rod at all, not even close.. a 5/8" bolt falls right through the smallest end of the taper

First of it sucks you are having problems, im glad the ones i did were only a day fix at the most... i cant wait to see it done
second.... you do know that the usps is not run by the gov't right????

Prepped the lift for powder today, uninstalled bushings and debadged it. Also separated out what I will and won't be powdering.

So, basically everything is being powdered except:
CV spacers
Diff bracket fix

I think I'll have the Ubolts powdered black just to prevent rust, because they look very vulnerable to rusting as is.

looks like MCG sent me some new centerpins woohoo!

Few pics now, random of the compression struts "kicker braces"

Bushings taken out of the TBD brackets and compression struts, really easy two piece jobbers

Decisions Decisions. The MCG logo comes as a chromed cutout with a black backing plate. Following are pics of TBD and front box with, without, and with just the chrome. Let me know what you think. (but it'll be orange)

8" diff drop

Backing plates came in

Dropped the LCA's off to have bushings and ball joints pressed out today.
Also sent Tony @ FFR Fabrication a MCG Tie rod end because they're FREAKING HUGE! and bigger than stock so he'll have to custom make me a set of spindle posts for the MCG lift, AGAIN. stock 1/2 ton are 5/8" and taper down from there. These are bigger than 5/8" at the bottom of the taper!

sent him these and more pics, along with the MCG supplied TRE. He said the they may actually be the same as Fabtech spindles and TRE's used with the NNBS. We'll just have to see.
