GM Tech 2 Clone

There's a couple g8 guys following this. May he able to use this to turn on VIM. Anyone know?
 
Just needed the year so that way I can program cluster with a vin of the same year

Ahhh Okay. I didn't find anything on google that would lead to me to believe that you can enable vim using tech 2. Couldn't you just tap parking signal wire going into the nav and put a ground switch.
 
This is for the g8, different shit. A guy charges $50.
I'm thinking if they've figured out all this other shit, they'd be smart enough to try to wire to parking break. But I haven't researched it.
 
The tech2 as far as I know is not capable of flash EEPROM chips. But the first link mentioned something about enabling nav enables vim but that really didn't make sense to me

I'm not quite sure how the guys hack it, they also hack the gauges to change the colors. there's a few things.

I know bmw guys have hacks too that change factory settings, pretty cool actually!
 
I do still have it. Used it to diagnose my transmission. If I were to buy one today i would rather buy a MDI versus a tech 2. MDI can be used on more vehicles.
