Dakota's build thread

Got my 3" blocks swapped out for my nnbs 1.25" blocks yesterday along with getting my 1500 keys back in and getting my heim spacer swapped for some shorter ones.

Everything went smooth but I need to crank the front up. Started to do that this morning but apparently I bent the drivers side torsion bolt on the way to work on it so as soon as I put some pressure on it the damn thing snapped off :fp:

Front end sits at 7" on the drivers side and 6.5ish on the passenger side. Super low and scrapes non stop on everything lolol.




Got my esky pulls on today. Also swapped water pump gaskets since the other ones were leaking bad. Got it sealed back up and now its overheating again...doesnt make any sense as ive been driving it for the last 3 days WITH leaking gaskets and it has cooled perfectly. :ayfkm:

 
looking good. Hope you can figure out cooling issue. Dad is having cooling problems with his '00 z as well. Shit's gay.
 
So, you tried to raise it up but instead it actually is lower than before?

Fucking awesome. That looks great as is dude.

New fan clutch, tstat/housing, and water pump. Had a mechanic friend tell me it was blockage in the radiator. Flushed the system several times and actually had it running good. Ive been driving it for the last 3 days with no problems besides leaking water pump gaskets. Replaced them both today with new felpros and now it is overheating again.

Lol yea. I didnt crank the 1500 keys at all when I put them in. Wish I had now. Its sooo low. Thanks bro!
 
Sucks about the overheating thing, and totally random that it started again after the new gaskets. Maybe try flushing the system again now that the gaskets are good? I really don't know.
 
Wonder if it's just air in the system now after replacing all that and it being fine for a few days. Shake the truck while burping cooling system, might get air pocket out I there is one.

Im sure it is. I had to go take a drug test for a new job yesterday at 230 so I didnt have time to flush and burp the system yesterday but I will the next time I get a chance.

Actually it was a hair test. Depending on what job I get I could be making more than double what I am now. That being said, im gonna focus on getting a house first then maybe a ccsb next year sometime.
