I'm going to purchase a new ac compressor and would like to just buy it as a kit with the accumulator and all that jazz included. What would you all suggest I purchase? I'm more concerned with quality than price

I would stay away from reman units personally. Unless you are excited about the warranty and savings. We always had the remans coming back for warranty exchanges at Oreilly's when I worked there many years ago.

You typically can't buy it as a "kit" but they will get you everything needed. You have to replace everything through Oreilly's or you don't get the actual warranty.

Also, check rockauto for prices. I did mine this way and saved me a ton for my fuel system years ago. I had it drop shipped directly to the shop doing the work too.

Rockauto surprisingly didn't have ac parts for my truck. I'm not interested in reman. I don't want to ever do this again haha

I got all AC Delco parts for mine. If the original AC Delco stuff lasted ten years, stick with the OEM parts.

delphi is OEM

AC Delco is a marketing tool for GM...just saying
True. I ordered AC Delco, but I actually got a Delphi compressor in a AC Delco box.
But what I was basically saying was to use OEM parts. I got all my stuff from Rockauto for under $500 shipped.

It's not hard to charge it if you can find a buddy with the gauges and a vacuum pump. Whatever you do, just do NOT charge it without putting a vacuum pump on it first.

:imo: vac that thing for a long time too since the system will have been open, book calls for like 3 hours IIRC

So i bought all my shenanigans from Autozone, got delphi non-sense. Took me about 2-2.5 hours to install by myself. Not nearly as intimidating as I expected. 10/10 would do again.

If you take your fender lining out you can access the ac compressor super easy. When looking at it from the fender the bottom right bolt is the only one that is a pain in the a$$. Have to take it off from under the truck, wish i had a 15mm ratcheting wrench for that but... Now i can pass on that knowledge.

Not yet. I'm trying to save some extra to pay for door seams as well. It's hard after spending g all this cash on the ax
