Figured everyone would like this over here as well and maybe avoid all the "will these rims work on my X/X drop" threads before they start.

These numbers are for 2WD, stock track width, static dropped trucks. 4WD trucks will stick out just a tad more the lower you get.

4wd trucks need to add an extra 5mm or so to the offset to be safe.

These numbers are the absolute minimum and will keep the wheel inside the fenders. Your wheel diameter, tire selection and drop will be the desiding factors in whether or not you have to roll/modify inner fenders/lips.

When you're looking to buy a wheel, you will need to know either the Offset or backspacing of the wheel. If you're looking at a wheel and it doesn't meet the specified numbers for it's width, it will not tuck and there's no chance with your stock track width. so this is to help with wheel selection.

The key number you need to assess is the front spacing. it needs to be 4.25" or less. If the front spacing on the wheel is higher than that it will not matter what the backspacing is because it will never tuck

the Categories are the width:

7"
Offset:-6mm or higher
Backspacing:3.75" or higher

8"
Offset:+6mm or higher
Backspacing:4.75" or higher

8.5"
Offset:+12mm or higher
Backspacing:5.25" or higher

9"
Offset:+19mm or higher
Backspacing:5.75" or higher

9.5"
Offset:+25mm or higher
Backspacing:6.25" or higher

10"
Offset:+30mm or higher
Backspacing:6.75" or higher

10.5"
Offset:+38mm or higher
Backspacing:7.25" or higher

11"
Offset:+45mm or higher
Backspacing:7.75" or higher

12"
Offset:+63.75mm or higher
Backspacing:8.75" or higher

So just to be sure, a 20x8 with a +45 offset with a 275/45 will tuck. Just seems a lot more than the needed +6, or am I doing it backwards?

yes, a 20x8 with a +45 offset is much higher than what is required.

Thought they only made the reps in 22s?

this is what i'm getting at. last I heard, all the companies backed out on making 20" TBSS reps because the demand wasn't high and even if they did. the companies were going to make them in 20x9.

I would be sure and double check what your guy is about to order. If he, in fact, gets the wheels in 6x5.5 bolt pattern. he should start advertisizing the ability to get them because buying them online is no bueno.

Hmm, I guess I need to call him back then. Maybe he thought I meant SSS wheels.

If that's true, they are usually 20x8.5. sounds like to me, he's about to get you tbss replicas in 6x5 bolt pattern for the trailblazers. in which case they are 20x8.

What's the sierras, 5.5?

yes, fullsize gm trucks are 6x5.5. they make adaptors for 6x5.5-6x5 that are 1.25" thick. these would make the wheels work and still give you a nice offset. however some people hate adaptors, some people love them.
