Can someone explain to me basic concepts of what a stall does, how to use it, and the advantages.

I have basic ideas of it but need a little more in-depth facts.

And what is the stock rpm "stall" range of a NBS chevy?

Stall converter is just like a plain torque converter. it is somewhat of a clutch that controlls tranny. A Stall on the converter does exactly what it says, it stalls the coverter to only work above a certain rpm. like a 1500rmp stall converter will not spin your transmission untyill you rev past 1500rpms, thus you start at a higer rmp boosting your speed. Just like someone in a stick launching at higher rmps. Same concept

Foot braking your stock converter, will actually 60ft slower at the track, and even some aftermarket converters leave harder off idle.

Btw you check your stall speed in 2nd gear pulled down.

My old circled 3200 ,that budget converter everyone buys,it pulled harder off idle.
