So today browsing CL, I see an ad that says 06 GMC engine and trans for sale. out of curiosity, I text, get a pic, I see oil cooler lines, and 4L80. Story is 06 LQ4 80k Miles, engine fire. I cant recall if 06 vans still had dbc or not, the intake was dbc...So i questioned, got more pics, talked shit, and finally decided I really didnt care, For what I talked him into Id take my chances...on to pics...

after a lil shop vac action, playin with a wire brush for a second, doesnt seem to have gotten too hot except at the front/top of the intake, intake gaskets still nice n green, only a couple injector plugs damaged. Im sure Itll need lots of cleaning and seals atleast. not bad for $250 IMO :security:

if i was you I would get it rebuilt that way you know your good before you put it in...

Thats just wasting money. Didnt even get hot enough to melt intake gaskets. Ill clean it, likely head gaskets and seals and go w it. I intend on upgrades eventually anyway, install it and its fried im out what, 4 hours? Not that pulling the heads/pan wont help determine condition for the most part anyway.
