Shaved tailgate

Thinking about shaving my tailgate, post up some pics of shaved gates on stepsides.
Heres what mine currently looks like. What should i do about the top pad? Thanks.

Unless you're planning to remove all the plastic pieces from the bed I would leave it.

Thats what i was thinking but its so bulky, do all stepsides have the same tailgate cap?

Remove tailgate cap. Smooth top pads. Shave gate
