Okay well my ac compressor is causing a terrible screeching sound and I was wondering how I would run the belt or eliminate the screeching. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

You can take the ac belt off.
It is separate from the seprantine belt.
But, they aren't too terribly expensive to replace.
You can replace the clutch unit for about $50
Or buy a decent used unit on ebay for around $75- but then you have to charge the ac again

Usually you can get a substantially larger warranty if you replace the whole ac compressor rather than just the clutch. It's not much more and if it's never been replaced, probably a good idea to do so

Buying a new compressor at this time is out of the window that's why I'm looking for a way around it.

are the non-a/c obs truck serpentine systems routed the same as the serpentine systems with a/c?

If so you could just run the shorter belt. I don't know how your serpentine is run so im not sure if this is good advice....

I'm assuming it's similar. I just put the truck is the shop due to lack of time. But I'll check it out when it's done.
