Northwest 4x4 "Prerunner" Build

]Figured I might as well put up a build thread. First page will be a pic explosion of the last few years. Most of it will be copied from an old thread but hopefully there will be some info that people can take from it.
Specs: Dixon Bros 4x4 1500 kit. Fox 2.5 CO's with 800 lbs springs and 2.0 2" bumps. Deaver F87's and Bilstien 5100s BMS relocation hangers and shackles. Still have the stock 10 bolt but at least with a trutrac and 4.56's.
Stock half shaft on left, new half shaft on right.

I'm reusing my outer cv's so to pull them off the old shafts you have to find this little snap ring, sorry about the grease haha.

I guess I have to move the porpotioning valve because it's in the way of the shock tower. You can see how it's like right above the shock mount in the second picture.

Thanks guys. It's been a fun toy. Also had the trans rebuilt about a month ago. Blew out the rear planet gears. Upgraded to 5 pinion planetary's, shift kit, new clutches and band and a 2k stall. I told the shop I would like a 2500ish but they said for offroading and the larger tires to go with a 2000. Can't notice the difference and still wish I would have went higher, but this set up has been working good.

Trucks awesome. Out of curiosity what tires do you like the most since you have had KM2s, MTZs and KTR Kevlars. I've driven trucks with MTZs and KM2s and they were decent but didn't drive enough to really compare to the Kevlars on my 04, I loved the MTRs on that. Its funny that MTRs are sold as an all terrain tire since they are more aggressive than most MTs.

I honestly wanted to know what he thought since hes run all 3 on the same truck. Everyone online loves Toyos and Trails and if it isn't those they are wrong, look at pics from KOH, guess what a lot of the tires are, MTRs so they can't be to bad. I'm guessing the guys you know had false expectations. Yes they had some problems with pulling when they first came out but my 04 aligned to gm specs leveled on 285/70R17 MTRs would run 90-95 no problem on the interstate no pulling and they were quieter than the trucks ive been in with trails :yarly:

they didnt bitch about vibration at any speed, they bitched about how fast they burned off, or the steel belts breaking.

and i dont have any of the tires you mentioned

idk how i missed this tread,

everything is sweet.

you will love the cognitio support kit, works very very well at tightening the front end.
Yea I'm really liking the cognito kit. Thing felt like a sports car after I replced everything and added it haha. I have about 500 miles on it now.

This is perfect, simple, must ride way better than lift; love the setup. Do you DD it?
It was my only vehicle for about two years after I had the kit on, but with the winters up here I got tired of all the corrosion from de-icers. It drives fine, but I have a 45 mile round trip everyday for work so it was pointless to put all those miles on it and spend the extra gas money so I have a Mini Cooper S now.

My favorites were the KM2's. I would have got them in a 37 but they are way overpriced IMO. When I went up to 37's I wanted something light but didn't want to spend 2k on just tires. The bfg all terrains, KM2 and the MTR's were the only 3 I could find under 80lbs/tires. The a/t's were sold out at the time so I found the MTR's cheap on ebay. One of them took a lot of weight to balance, but still came out fine. And for their use so far I think they are holding up fine. I have no complaints, but they have only been on 3 offroad trips. They did great going through 2 blizzards on the passes this weekend too. I was skeptical about them at first also, but a friend has a set on his jeep and has no complaints either.
