What up fellas, saying hello from Las Vegas. I've been reading on here and decided to join. I just bought a 2011 GMC standard cab that the previous owner did a half ass lowering job in the back so I'm riding on the cut down bump stops. All I can tell is he took out the overload leaf without doing a flip kit and kept the stock shocks. I put 305/35/24's on it and I like the way it sits now plus it doesn't rub up front but need more travel in the rear without cutting the frame. I was thinking about buying stock leafs and just starting over from stock height so I guess my question is how can I keep it the same height it is now but with more travel in the back. My bad for the rambling, lol

Welcome from SC!

What height is it now? Post pics of the truck and maybe under the back end so we can tell you the best method. I don't think removing one leaf would cause it to ride on the bumpstops. Has to be more done.

Easiest thing to do would be to take measurements and then see what the stock measurements are so we can formulate what parts would work best to achieve the desired height.

Looks like your at 4" in the back. 2" drop shackles with rear block and the overload removed. I would just cut the rest of the bump stop bracket out and drill a hole for one from energy suspension. The way it's set up now is really the easiest way to lower it to 4". Also, get some shocks that are for 2"-4" drop, it should ride much better with them.

That's exactly what I wanted to know, I will get some new shocks. I really appreciate it!!!

No problem. Check out the belltech street performance series shocks, that's what most of the guys here run. I had that exact setup on my truck and had no complaints with it.

Hey Dean, I cut those bumpstops off and put some aftermarket stops in there replaced the shocks with those Belltech's you suggested and truck rides perfect now. I appreciate the help!!!
