I just picked up a 2006 HD Hood and a 2006 Silverado SS grille. I am sending them to my painter on Monday, but before I send everything off I was wondering if anyone has ever seen, or done any mods to the HD hood?
What I was thinking about was cutting vents in the back bottom of the hood so air can come in through the grill and some of the under hood heat can escape out the back? Or putting vents on the outer sides and put 2 gauges in the center?
I was looking online for some feed back because there is no way I am the first person to think of doing something like this?
Maybe its a stupid idea?
Let me know what your opinions are regarding this mod? My other idea is to wire up a 6 to 8 inch light bar under there so you could see at night if needed?
Any input would be great! I want to get the hood to the painter on Monday and I'd would like to handle any mods while it has bad paint on the top side.
