NBS 99 07 interior thread

I'm just scared they don't work after those get replaced, and I'm 200$+ in the shitter. They're pretty grimy looking, but there was 1 dark gray 2 light gray and 1 tan.

I'd pick the best 2 or 3, those ports aren't hard to replace. Just cut into the wire sheathing on both ends of the console and peel it back enough to make sure the wiring isn't rusting inside. As long as it's not, there shouldn't be any reason the new stuff wouldn't work.

Here's mine. Mostly stock. Just been trying to recondition most of the pieces after buying my truck used a couple years ago.

Esky cluster and shift knob. Not too overkill and wakes the interior up a bit. I originally went with the black face gauge with blue needles but the light output was pretty drab. Ended up with the dark blue stock face with white needles and it looks much better.

Got a few other things planned for it but just haven't had time to finish.

That aibag light, put som black electrical tape over it. That's what I did when I had my cluster.

Oh, yeah I'm not sure why it is on in that pic. I probably shot the pic right after starting the truck. It blinks for about 5 seconds and then goes away. I guess if it ever came on permanently, I'd just crush the LED for it. lol

The one I had in my chevy stayed on. It was because the escalades had more than two airbags, or so I was told.

Maybe because you had a 99?
I've been told that anytime you put a 00-02 cluster in a 99 truck that the airbag light will stay on.
Supposedly the airbag software changed after 99 or some shit like that...

thought that was a seat belt light? looks red to me with a seat belt? thought airbag light was amber.

I need to paint interior pieces baddd. Not sure if I want to smooth each one out, leave the textured, or even just a light sand with a pad to mildly smooth it.
Does it look like shit not smoothed and glossed?

Personal preference really but I think it looks like pewp with the texture and gloss. If you keep the texture do a satin or flat clear, looks much better imo.

That's what I'd think too, but don't remember seeing any gloss that aren't smoothed. Marc just did his flat black & textured tho which came out good. But Dfw gloss

I did some pieces in the chevy and didn't sand them at all. Looked so bad I didn't even take any pics and sanded it right away. Just doesn't look right to me with the texture and gloss.

Fuck, sanding it is then I guess. Does it need primer after smoothed, or could I just wipe down, adhesion promoter, paint, clear?

I used bulldog promoter and haven't had any problems. Been almost 5-6 years and the chevy pieces still look good.

Awesome, DNW primer bullshit. Thanks tonhey! I'll re-look up the sanding & paint type info when I have some time to get around to it
