I paid $450 for these wheels on le craigslist, and they were pretty far gone. 2 wheels curbed, one worse than the other, and I think the previous owner cleaned them with 80 grit sandpaper.
I spent a total of $40 in polishing equipment for harbor freight, not including the mothers polish and mothers powerball I already had. I bout a sewn wheel, and every rouge polish they had. Also bought some 220, 500, 1000 and 1200 grit paper because that's what they had.
First, I filed down the curbed wheels until I felt like it was too much, then sanded out the filing with 220 grit. Also around where the lugs go someone tore up the wheels with a socket, so I filed it out and sanded out with 220. Then I wet sanded the entire wheel with 500, then 1000 and 1200 on the hoops only until they were all even. I really should've have some 600 or 800 grit paper between the 500 and 1000, and also some 1500 and 2000, but I was super tight on money and time at the moment. This would've made them turn out a ton better, and saved time with the polishing.
I broke out the grinder with my HF sewn wheel and began using the rouge bars in order on the hoops only. I really should've had a new wheel with every different rouge, but again, I was really tight on money and time.
After that I scuffed down the spokes with 500 just so they were uniform. I didn't have time to polish them out as I was obligated to get tires the very next day.
Finally I finished up with my powerball and mothers polish. These are just a few pictures of them along the way. I still have plans to one day repolish them out correctly, along with the spokes. School, family, work, and college and all that BS is taking 110% of my time. Kind of frustrating
How I got them, I didn't get any good pics of where they were curbed, or where they were gummed up around the lugs. This work along took around 8-10 hrs beginning to end.

I love it! Had to trim the inner fenders a little, and work the chrome a little, but didn't cut any of the chrome.

I'm happy with this height for now. Just not in the budget :spendmonies: maybe one day
Can't decide if I want to get spacers or not, i really don't like the idea of them even though I had them and had 0 issues. And yes I didn't really know how much of a bitch it was to keep a truck with "stance" clean. Props to all you guys with tires outside the fenders, shit suck!

Well decided I'm going to sell the truck and find a smaller gasser. Something a little more economical for college, and something I actually know how to turn wrenches on (and afford to turn wrenches on). Pay off on this truck is like 7k, and I'm hoping to get 14k out of this truck. Going to be looking for a clean little 4.8/5.3 RCSB or possibly an ECSB in the 4-7k range.

Fuck. Backed into a tree last weekend, fucked up the bumper, which got pushed into the bedside, also ruined the tail light and caused some sort of voodoo witchcraft blinker problem. Somehow magically it didn't touch the tail gate.

Beat it out a little bit. If it wasn't pushed up towards that body line it'd be a fuck ton easier to just dolly out and bodywork it.
So I started working on these things to help the truck sell;
1) My airbag light is on, code says it's the front impact sensor, replaced it, nothing changed. Need help here.
2) CEL is on for glow plugs, replaced 2 of the 3 that were bad, going to do the 3rd soon. These are easy
3) ABS light was on, codes said both front wheel speed sensors, replaced both. Light is off, but EVERY time I come to a stop, the ABS in the front left wheel activates, idk what it is. I get the vibrating in the pedal and it pulls left super hard, and the code comes on randomly. Need help here also.
Well my dad bought a wrecked 2003 1500hd with a fairly straight black bed I'm going to work out and possibly paint, and part out the rest. He said as long as I make him a little profit off the rest I can have the bed. Updates soon, I'm fairly decent with the bodywork side of paint, but I'm pretty newb when it comes to the actual painting. So that should solve the bed issue, just need to find 1 DS 03+ silvy tail. Also bought a straight enough chrome rear bumper on the cheap.

Luckily for me my bed dent was above that body line. Sucks to see that happen.
Your abs issue is the abs sensor in the hub. Common problem and an easy fix, but the stupid thing is more expensive than it should be.

Yeah oh well shit happens, after totaling a truck I poured 3 years into, I kinda try to let everything like this roll off my back, plus I'm honestly looking forward to trying and painting this bed I've got, my dad used to paint show quality vehicles 20ish years ago, and has a wealth of knowledge I want him to pass down to me before he gets too old to teach it to me.
As for the sensor; I replaced the sensor in both hubs with brand new ones, but I want to say I may have got grease on the driver side sensor where I shouldn't have. I dunno it was at like 8 in the morning after being up all night. Will pull it, try getting oreillys to warranty return it, if they won't then I'll just clean it and stick it back in and hope for the best. I read a lot about trucks sensors getting rusty and doing the same thing, so I think I may have just got grease or some shit on the sensor.

My sensor does the same thing. And I'm almost positive you are correct on the grease. I think the last time I had mine apart I got grease on my sensor, tried to clean it but I guess I didn't clean it good enough. So mine does that too from time to time.
