LS1 Aluminum Block ( Austin, Texs ) SOLD...
I bought this LS1 to build as a project for my truck but after some careful consideration I want to stick with an iron block. That being said I am going give someone the opportunity to pick it up! I am not going to give it away but I will take a legitimate cash offer! This is not something I absolutely "have" too get rid of so if you think I am going to take a lowball offer you are barking up the wrong tree! $300.00 is a fair deal for a LS1 block.
It came out of a 98 corvette that had perimeter ( 806 ) heads. The block will need to be honed, and new cam bearings are a must! It could use a good cleaning too!
There was lifter failure and one hole may need to be honed or cleaned up. I stuck the cam in, and put a lifter in the hole and everything rotates and operates just fine. I personally don't think it affected the block itself. The cam and lifter on the other hand are trashed. There is also a small knick on the bottom of the block which I also don't think will affect anything. There is some surface rust on some of the cylinders which will most likely hone out ( not sure ). I never took the block to a machine shop for any verification. I know you can bore these blocks out a very small amount, but I didn't feel like buying new pistons and going through all the work. All I wanted to do with it was hone it, get new cam bearings, and rebuild it but I have decided to punch a 5.3 block out to LS1 specs and go that route!
Again, I will take a legitimate cash offer, but I am not giving it away! at very worse case I get the machine work done and keep it, or turn it into a table for the man cave! I am asking $300.00
I AM SELLING JUST THE BARE BLOCK ( with some sensors that are probably worthless ) ... I am keeping everything else! Please do not ask if I will sell the pistons, crank, covers, ect. The answer is no!!!
