Ok guys I'm new here and need some help. I've got a 2011 Chevy Silverado crew cab that I'm wanting to lower around 4/6 and trying to avoid notching the frame. I've seen several different kits and lots of forums on this subject but they're all a few years old. I'm looking for more up to date info on what the best kit is to use. Thanks!!

Belltech and Mcgaughys both make good quality parts. I'd go with belltech spindles and adjustable struts to get your 4" up front. One of our other member had that setup on his nnbs ccsb and he said it rode good and the turning radius was outstanding. You will, more than likely, need helpers if you aren't gonna notch though.

I have a nnbs gmc. I bought my kit used from a member who had it on a his nnbs Silverado. Kit is belltech everything. Except it has street edge spindles (rebranded belltech) after 4 months of beating on every bump and dip in ordered helpers. Didn't wanna notch. Highly recommended doing either while you are putting new suspension on. Wish I would have done that. Lol. I had my truck on jackstands to get wheels powdered an took a pick of my frame gap over the axle.

I am said member that ^he is taking about. I highly recommend doing helpers and going no lower than 6 in the rear. At 7 I would smack at just about any speed. Shortly before I pulled the kit off, I put in some lift shackles to get it to 6. It didn't smack as much, but was no were near comfortable, especially on the highway.

Another note, it may be a good idea to go on and pick up a camber kit. I hadon't to use offset bushings on the UCA's and still didn't get it in spec, just close. Every truck is different though.

And +1 for belltech, had their components at 2/4 and 4/7 with no complaints.

Thanks for all the info guys! So if I go ahead and notch it how low can I go without hitting? And also, at 4/6 is the truck actually level? I've seen OBS Chevys and they appear to be higher in the back at 4/6.

Can't help with the notch question but at 4/7 my rear is 1" lower based off fender height measurements

4/6 should be level on a crew cab, like dszx13 I was an inch lower in the rear at 4/7.

Depends on what notch you buy. If you have access to a welder, I'd go with the deepest underbed notch you can find so you have plenty of room. With a bolt in mcg/Belltech notch I'm guessing you could go 8 without bottoming out. I'm not sure on nnbs. Lower than 8 and you probably be back in the same boat with clearance.

Lower than 8 in rear you'll have to tub the bed I believe

One other question, if I go 4/6 with a bolt in notch will I still be able to pull a trailer pretty comfortable?

I jus ordered mcguaghys helpers an on board compressor. I don't tow often but I do from time to time. The helper kit is like 393 and it it'll work with all heights like 5,6, and 7

I think this will be the kit I go with. Any opinions?
