Saw this truck on Craigslist. It has ~243k miles on it. Guy sent me some more pictures and it looks pretty darn clean to me.

Was thinking about going and taking a look at it, check the balance rates on injectors, etc, see what he knows about it.

I wonder if it's 2wd... no floor shift and can't tell if it has button shift.

Was thinking about maybe making it into a RCSB for a buddy.

He has it on CL for 12,500. Wash maybe thinking of offering him 10k cash.

What do you guys think?

dfw a friend like you lol

It looks alright to me, aside from the frame rust, etc. I'd get it for 10k

The frame is to be expected. I can deal with that.

The rockers on regular cabs seem to hold up a ton better than extended cabs and crew cabs do.

I might just have to keep it for myself

Was looking for floor shifter and then button shift 4wd and then I realized it had 4x4 sticker. I'm a dumb ass

10k seems kind of steep for a RCLB with that kind of mileage. Out here they sell at auction with half the miles and no rust for about half of that price.

I find that hard to believe.

Push button 4wd with Power windows and mirrors?

Maybe 2wd trucks yeah.... have any examples?

KBB is right around 14k, take 4-5k off for realistic price.... ~10k

If you can get a RCLB LBZ with 125k for 6k that isn't totaled sign me up asap.

How do you think the dealers make money? They buy them cheap at auction.

Example? How about my 03 F250 Super Duty, 6.0L PSD, auto, auto T-Case, Manual Hubs, FX4 off road pkg, 113k miles. I paid $5000 for this truck, clean title, never wrecked. Oh, and Cali truck = Rust Free

Well if you could find me a truck like in my OP with the same miles as your Ford I would gladly buy it for 5k. I know KBB is bs. That Ford isn't exactly a highly desired truck between the 6.0.... headgasket and egr cooler problems. They don't hold their value the same... not trying to be an ass either.

So I will say it again... find a regular cab LBZ optioned the same as my truck in OP at auction, with half the miles and have the price around 7-8k. I bet you won't find anything in decent shape under 15-16k.

With my first rc the place bought it at auction for 7600 and I bought it for 8. That was for a totaled LBZ with a frame that needed replaced. I asked the guy on GMFS that's doing an AWD RCSSB and he thought I made out decent on mine even in its condition.

Got off the phone with him, he works for a construction company and it was his bosses truck for driving around to sites. He said they kept up with maintenance really well, oil every 5k and fuel filters every 10k. He put Idaho Rob's Tuning and DSP5 on it recently, did all the brakes/rotors, hubs, normal wear items recently.

I know the construction company he works for and they take good care of their stuff.

Going with my buddy to look at it tomorrow.

I am the second owner. I know the history back to when it was new. The oil was changed every 5k, the fuel filter every 10k, tranny fluid every 50k, it's been a great truck. When I bought it 2 yrs ago I replaced the front brakes( pads, rotors, calipers, and wheel bearing), I recently replaced the water pump, thermostats, new coolant, serp belt, pulleys, alternator. I've always tried to be proactive on maintenance.

Well went and saw the truck. Rear quarter panels are sand blasted and would need repainting if I didn't make it a short bed. Also the passenger side rocker is toast in the back, drivers side was fine though. Motor was super clean and it drove and shifted great. Overall truck didn't have a single dent, even on the bed rails.

I offered him 10 and he wanted 11. So I told him to call me if he changed his mind.
