I was asked by our fearless leader :jared: to make a thread to help with questions about swaping your current lights to LED lights.

These bulb types are the stock incandescent bulbs from the factory. Use these numbers to look up the correct replacement LED bulbs for your vehicle.

On NBS Trucks, the 912 & 921 bulbs have the same base as the 194 bulbs, so you can use them instead.
The 4114 DRL can be swaped to a 3157 bulb, but it can lead to issues.

I don't know anything about the NNBS lighting system, so if anyone wants me to add or change this post up or PM me.

All LED bulbs in your turn signals WILL hyper flash. There are a few fixes for this.

1. Load Resistors. These go in line with the bulbs. If you are doing 2 bulbs, buy 6 OHM 50W Load Resistors. For 4 bulbs, buy 3 OHM 50W Load Resistors. They can be purchased for around $5-$7 per pair. This is your only option if you have a GMT-900 (NNBS) as the BCM controls the flashing.

2. Replace your stock flasher with an aftermarket one made for LED bulbs. I'm not sure which ones are needed, someone can chime in on this. I know VLeds sells a bunch of them.

3. Modify your stock flasher. This is the cheapest option. Take the cover off of your flasher relay. There is a chip in there that you will need to remove the 7th "leg" or pin on it. This will disable hyper flash but you lose the Bulb Out indicator...small price to pay for a free mod.

Scottyboy added: T10-based bulbs will fit just fine in the 194 sockets as well.

That's because they share the same base, correct? I was hoping you would chime in if I missed anything.

So, if I pull the leg/pin on the relay and disable bulb out ind, do I still need resistors?

Or is it one or the other? Because relay go about seems much better route

No, you wouldn't need resistors if you modified the stock relay. It is the cheapest route to go, but resistors are easy if someone doesn't want to mess with their stock stuff

I really could care less about bulb out indicator. Seems the easiest route.

And if ever wanted to go back to having indicator, could replace relay.

Nope, under the driver side kick panel under the steering wheel.

Take the lower dash piece off and you should see a square opening. Look in there and to the left side of the opening you should see a black box type thing. That is the relay. Just pull to the right to get it out and pop the cover off with a butter knife or think screwdriver. Then you can modify the #7 pin on the one transistor.
