Okay I've decided this time I'm going to cover my whole build so I can keep track of everything in one place. I'll definitely need some advice and help because I am by NO means a pro, but I love to give everything a try by myself at least once! Lol. Feel free to chime in. I'll add in that I KNOW some may not agree with my work nor my plans but just throwing my build thread up anyways. We can agree to disagree. :up:

Truck is a 1995 1500 with a 4.3L V6. 5 Speed. "Around" 100k miles according to the PO. Tranny is smooth except for going into 2nd & 3rd. Motor runs great after a quick tune up.. after I drove it 40 minutes home sputtering at anything above 2k RPMs. Interior is trashed, no console, no radio, no carpet, dash is just sitting there... etc. Body & paint is in dire need of help.


Plans as of 4/4/13: (all out of order, but most of them are here)
Finish the body work and paint... Single color... Hot Rod Flatz Rally Green Metallic
Black front and rear bumpers
New window and door trim
Tailgate "emblem", the one that goes side to side (Looking to buy if anyone has one)
Headliner and board, original is non-existant
Bedliner
FatMat interior OVER bedliner
Edelbrock intake
Throttle body spacer
FIX THE A/C
Lower 4" more out back and 2" in the front
Prime, smooth, and paint the interior silver... Dash will have 2oz of silver flake added. Just the dash will have flake.
Green carpet
Have my mom restich my seats using green and black simulated leather (marine vinyl)
New lowers to the door panels made of MDF, wrapped with green simulated leather
Have Jeff swap my used 5 speed in to replace the messed up original... Jeff will eventually swap a 6.0/4L60E in the next year at the most.
Already ordered 20x9 Milani Kool Whip 6, black

Stereo will include... 4 5.25s per door, 2 4" coaxials per side on the rear pillar, VVME 4 channel, 2 VVME 1500 mono blocks, 4 DD 8" woofers in a custom console (have plans drawn up), PA flip down untill I move AC controls for a double din,

Also copied from another forum, first post was from a couple month ago... Fast forward to this post, posted today.
I updated my original post to show all the plans including some new ones. I have only been able to work on the truck a couple saturdays now but have gotten quite a bit done. The drivers door will be replaced soon, but I went ahead and primed it to match the rest for now. The passenger side hasn't been touched with paper yet. Also, the driver side needs to be blocked and shot with another coat or two.

Also, today I ordered some 20x9 Milanni Kool Whip wheels in black. gay name. Love the look though.

No, the PO must have opened the door into a curb, pole, etc. The door was pushed back in that area. I "could" bondo it and body work it but since there are 4 other dents in that door I'd rather just replace it.

All said and done, I hope to be at 7/10 or lower. I plan to relocate the gas tank as well.

Funny you mention LS swap, did you see in my plans? My ole lady said "start saving for a swap, were not half assing the motor".

Thanks man. Just a little at a time and it's gonna get there. Money is the biggest thing holding me back. Luckily I sold 2 of my 4 bikes so that cash has went straight to the truck.

Dat green carpet came in today. lol. The color is much different than what most people would use but I really think it will make the interior come together good!

Guess this is an update. I am picking up a 4L60e that's got a blown 2nd gear tomorrow. Jeff will be rebuilding it for me. It will be the same tranny that Peyton is running.

Also looking at a 5.3 tomorrow for a good deal. Was set on the 6.0 then I saw Jeffs 5.3 on a 180 shot... Think I'll be good with the 5.3 after some mods hah

But unfortunately the motor plans are on hold till I sell my supermoto.

The motor was a pos and the dude sold the tranny out from under me (supposedly got a better offer).

So I'm gonna finish up some other things and get it on the road till I sell my bike. All monies from the bike will go to the motor and tranny though so hopefully I can sell the bike in time to get the motor done before STC. My plans were to have it in primer, interior done, and motor/tranny in by then....

Lil bit like Christmas at my house today. Wheels came in and I love em! The lip isn't HUGE but not too shabby. Highs amp got here today too. Looks good and perfectly sized. Should be plenty of power for my crazy doors I'm doing. Here's some picture.

Some "updates".. Bunch of parts have been getting here and Cub finished up my rendering. Of course it wont be identical but he did a great job for me IMO!

Another "update" is that I've fully decided I am NOT bagging this truck. I kinda had some thoughts in my mind about it, but I'm 100% decided I'm doing a 4 link with QA1s in the back and a QA1 coilover/spring setup in the front.

Front will be done before the back though since the motor swap will be done ASAP

For sure. But it will be worth it. I've been doing about 90% of the work myself so it's not TOO serious money wise. But I told myself I wouldn't cheap out this build because it's the last one I'm doing for a long while.
