I am currently running a 22" Magnaflow DI/DO and it has gotten a tad too loud for a DD in my opinion. Its behind a 5.3 with long tubes, ORY w/o cats, a small cam, pipes exiting before the bumper, and 243 heads - so the exhaust note has gone from deep and fairly mellow when I had nothing but an aftermarket muffler installed, to loud as hell and a tad raspy at above 2k RPMS after all of the mods.

I am looking for a muffler that still flows well, is deep and throaty, but is far quieter than my current setup. I would prefer to stay away from a resonator/gutted cats unless this is the only way to calm it down. If a good trade presents itself I am willing to work with you. I will edit with some exhaust clips later on.

What options do I have?

I love my si/so magna flow 12219 with my pacesetters, ory, 18" bullet, and 3" all the way turned down over the axle. Almost silent at Idle.

Almost makes me wish I could run a bullet in front of mine, but I have a cutout and a 36" magnaflow.
As Jared stated, I would try a resonator although that isn't what you want to do

Edited first post with vids. So a bullet should help quiet it down pretty significantly? I just didnt know if i would have room behind the headers and a cutout for one.

Check out Aero they have resonated versions and standalone resonators that you could run with your muffler or one of theirs cant beat stainless steel either

About the only options is to either run a larger muffler or add resonators (or another muffler). I assume you're running a single 3" tailpipe? Try something like this maybe http://www.summitracing.com/parts/wlk-17296/overview/

Sorry I forgot to specify that, I am running stock size piping (for now) with dual pipes out the rear. I have thought about jumping up to a complete 3" setup, but havent felt like dropping the coin on it yet. Looks like a resonator is a good option, but should I go ahead and spring for a 3" everywhere? That should make it a bit deeper, right?

I have full 3", I would go ahead and do it now.
My space is limited as well to add a resonator, I had a dynomax bullet as a resonator on ecsb. Been thinking of picking up another for ccsb. Ill grab a picture and post the room.

Edit: I was correct in my assumptions, I can't run a resonator, no room. Have a 3" piece of pipe separating e cutout and muffler

Brandon check your room and see if a resonator is an option for you.

Yeah it'll change the sound characteristics. Like you said it'll more than likely make it deeper. However there's really not a huge difference between 2.75" and 3". Maybe price it out first and go from there imo.
