Most of you know I scored a set of NNBS GMC 20s...didnt see anything on here on how to declad, so here we go.
I started off with these wheels, doesnt matter if you have the same ones I do or the other clad version, theyre the same wheel underneath.
"Other" rimps...again, wont matter as long as theyre 20s
What you want to do is flip the wheel around so ur looking down the barrel of the wheel...itll help if the tires are still mounted as this gives the cladding some space to move when u hit it.
Once its face down...
get u a lil piece of 2x4 and line it up with the edge of the foam and the wheel, so when u hit the 2x4, ur hitting the foam and the cladding
Give each side a good wack and go all around the wheel. Making sure u hit the foam will help ripping off most of the foam off. I popped a clad off by just hitting one half of the wheel and had more foam stuck to the wheel than going all around.
IDK if you can tell, but in that ^ pic....I got my knife and cut some lines into the foam. This helped the foam break off into smaller pieces and made it easier to chisel the foam off with my harbor freight trim remover and rubber mallet
Try to get the "chisel" under the foam, starting from a corner....sometimes the chunks just flew off.
The goal is to get as much foam/glue off without hurting the wheel....so try to work the chisel as flat as possible.

They should all look like dis when ur done
Youll end up with a lot of foam, so get your broom and a bucket
From here on out, its really upto u on what you want to do. You can start applying aircraft remover, you can try to pressure wash them, take traight to a wheel place...all up to your budget and the finish youre after.
