Fuck it - Narrowing

IC...so waht about a 2.25" Cut...what kinda BS shoudl i be around? 4.5"

no, you start at 3.25" cut per side for 4.25" of BS. for the less or more you cut, you add that much to the BS. so for 2.25" of cut you have 5.25" of backspacing.

If i can remember i'll snap some pics for ya when I get home. I cut 2.5 per side and with 22x10 with 5"bs n 305 tire its close! I could have MAYBE cut 1/4 more out but that would have been the absolute max with leafs.
As far as the stock axle measurements that were posted that is what I measured whenever I did everything.

Here ya go this will give ya an idea.

Well I sold my bed and am hoping to get a new one before the end of this month. But I did measure everything with the bed on before I had the axle narrowed.2.5 should clear everything just enough if I measured everything just right. Worse case.. I would have rolling the fenders. This was before I cut anything....

Ok so I Finally had the opportunity to do some measuring and there is no chance of cutting with my current setup(worth while cutting). I have not even 1.5" of clearance between my calipers and my leafs springs, and almost 2" to the caliper slide bolt and leaf spring.

Now my truck has been converted to 2 piston suburban rear brakes, so Im guessing that is the issue..The position that would contact the leaf is the bottom piston of the caliper.

Can someone confirm for me how much room they have from the back of there single piston caliper to the leaf spring, dont wanna go and order new calipers pads and rotors to find out there still isn't enough clearance. My truck is a 99', so you never know it may have some first model year bugs.

That is a good idea, will make for a bitch to bleed the brakes tho. It would probably need to move about 2" up. Wonder if there is any ill effect on having it up top

Just an update if anyone is looking at the thread.

2.5" Cut

22x10 with a 4.75" Backspace

Rotated tube ends 16 degrees to clear caliper - leaf interference

I get that he moved the caliper to be above the leafs. But what tube are y'all talking about? I can't get a good image in my head about it.

Edit: wait, when you cut it, you rotated the the axle tube where the axle goes in? That's how I'm picturing it in my head and can see how it'll work
