From Big Blue to Tukn 26s

Well got a great deal on a set of stock 20s with 2 decent tires and 2 tires that need replaced. Gona get two more tires and then I have winter wheels and current cruisers till I can afford Billet 26s like I really want.

Not bad for less than $250 bucks

Dang, definitely would have picked them up for a deal like that for sure!....didn't think you could run the EKMW kit with a 20" rim though?

That's on the NBS trucks because the lower ball joint has to be flipped so it mounts to the very bottom of the spindle and increases the height a few inches. I've never looked at a nnbs front suspension but if the lower BJ already mounts to the bottom of the spindle then you can run whatever size you want.

I'll definitely have to look it up and re-read to be certain, maybe with 20's it just cuts down turning radius extremely but I thought you needed to run 22's at the least but it was made for 24's-28's. That's why some people with stock 20's run the KP cups, etc.

Factory the lower sits on top of the spindle. EKMW kit used to say 24-28, now it says 22-28. I measured and from top of upper to bottom of lower there is 16.5". I should have no problem running factory 20s on the EKMW kit.

Sounds like you got it figured out then man. Definitely wasn't questioning you or knocking ya, was just going by what I had read a few places :shake: Keep us updated on how they work out for you. Not being able to run my factory 20's was one of the reason I shyed away from bagging for a bit.

Its funny that 2 diff people from Ekstensiv told me not to use 20's, that 22's with spacers would be the smallest they would run....

Well my 20s on 275/55R20 fit just fine. No issues at all. Won't come in contact anywhere lock to lock

Iirc Brett said something about the arms hitting the wheels throughout the suspension travel on anything smaller than 24s unless you use a certain size tire.

Throught full suspension travel with the wheel facing any direction, no contact at all.

I wouldn't have contact at the body anywhere because of my wheel tubs.

Wheels aren't rubbing control arms?

Well I guess your truck is a fucking magician that defies all things said about 20's not working correctly.

thats not how you measure it, but evidently it works on the NNBS. you measure from center of the hub to bottom of the lower ball joint.

for instance, on NBS trucks with the Ekstensive kit and stock spindles, that distance is ~9.5". if you take a 20" wheels and subtract just 1/4" for wheel thickness, you only have 1/4" clearance at the most. tire size, wheel make, and design will all play a part in it.

Well the 20s fit and I have around 1" or so of room before contact.

Here is a couple of pics of when it went to a local show last weekend. Was rushed to put the front on to get it there.

Turn just fine with zero issues. Lock to lock I have 1" of clearance

Da fuq man that pisses me off those bitches tell people 20's won't work.

I wonder if your stock 20's have diff offset. I highly doubt it though.

wish i ihad the skills to do this to mine... with the tubs jus cut out on your front fenders are the fenders really flimsy?
