Cluster Repair

Has anyone ever shipped out their nbs cluster to be rebuilt? The battery gauge crapped out on me a while back, but now my speedo is acting up. I could replace the steppers myself, but I'm not that comfortable with electronic repair. I tried to replace an iphone screen a couple years ago, fried the logic board, and swore off electronic repairs
I need the who's who of cluster repair/ customization.
I'd love to just get all the steppers replaced for good measure, possibly have the lights converted to led while it's out.

Would I just be better buying a cluster and having it flashed to my mileage?

DDS is about 30 minutes away from school. Good to know.

If I ever had a clean nbs, I'd love a 140mph cluster with a trans gauge and chrome surrounds. I thought I read on an old gmfs thread that dds could build that.

Yeah they can basically do whatever you want. I think they have that one on ebay right now actually, just gotta look through them all

i bought one from digital dash solutions and returned mine for a core.

it also gave me an opportunity to change to the SS style cluster. downside was i had a stepper go in that 2 years later, and a local place had one for the same price so i just did it with them.

i tried that myself on the one, turns out i had a internal short in the circuit board not a bad stepper.

That was sort of an exaggeration. I'd do it but I got no time/tools here at school.

Shit ain't hard at all. I got James' cluster right now, fixing to install new stepper motors, new overlay, red needles, and white LEDs. If you can solder, then you can replace the steppers and add LEDs.

he did mine, does a great job, epecially when he made the switch to the led strips.

the bulbs themselves burn out faster then a strip will.


btw scotty, can i buy some of the led's off you, or can you inform me where to buy them, my 4wd switch burned out, and i want to replace them, but dont want to hassle you with shipping it back again.
