you need to match or just slightly exceed the amps on the fuses at the amp to whatever you're putting at the battery. So if you have 2 40amp fuses on the amp, a 80amp under the hood will be fine. dont just randomly grab a fuse size

You fuse the wire not the amp. Cca 4awg is give or take 100 amps at 12'

so in the extreme event he ran 4/0 to that tiny little amp, you'd still say to put a 400+ amp fuse?
