Best Battery?

The battery in my truck is getting old. It only has about another month or 2 before its time is up, judging by how long it is supposed to last and how old it is. So I just wanna find out what everyone would recommend replacing it with. I remember Optima was probably the biggest recommendation at one point, but i heard rumor that their quality has gone down so that's why I started this thread. I also want a top post battery because I plan on doing the Big 3 mod at the same time I get a new battery.

I have no aftermarket audio equipment except my Alpine head unit. Eventually I may replace this with a double din and I will eventually replace the speakers with something of higher quality then stock.

As for lighting modifications, I have LEDs in my interior lights, and have been working on doing my switches etc.. with LEDs, all exterior lights are stock and will most likely stay that way.

Thanks for any help

dnfw optima, i got a diehard marine platinum has saved my ass already so i love it

edit: had big three with a side post battery for like 3 years and my big three turned into a big 7

I did my big three(4) with my side post battery but still subbed as mine is nearly 5 years old

old optimas were good. I had one last 8 years but too many people lately have had issues with them.

Deka (Its made by East Penn and lots of retailers sell it under their own label)
XS (D3400 is a direct fit with the side post adapters)
Odyssey

I have a CarQuest NG3478 "Deka" and an XS D3400. I know u dont have audio or big draw items, so the Deka would be ur best bet. I was killing it with my amps and would drop enough volts to cause warning messages in my dash. Its a good battery otherwise but cant handle the strain of big audio. Stay away from new Optimas..I had one in 05 and was awesome...dad bought one recently and its garbage.

odyssey = die hard platinum iirc according to sean

 Ginger

And what Eddeh said. Buy anything thing that is made my East Penn or East Penn State. Carquest, Napa, etc usually have them. They are the only remaining true American made batteries and are the best on the market. There is a thread on diesel place for guys who run fleet duramax's and they all swear by them.

btw i didnt post in any specific order...if I was to put them in order itd be

1. XS
2. Odyssey
3. Deka

This is for audio....for ur application

1. Deka (Good all around)
2. Odyssey (BAMF, not as good as XS but I think theyre cheaper than XS?)
3. XS (Best one of the 3 but $$$)

If XS is cheaper than Odyssey then switch them around.
