Lol 3 pages of bullshit later (thank you to those that actually input some lift info)

Back to trucks

Definitely considering BDS now that Fortfailbro has had his for so long and likes it, but replacing this big strut spacer and factory strut with the RCX replacement struts may be what I’ll do for now.

Got the rimps on

Looks good man, way better than the rimps you bought it with.

Do that rcx strut and it'll probably ride much better than the stock plus spacer.

I’m thinking about doing that and just painting this RCX.. dunno if I wanna bother with the swap to another lift. Still on the fence though. BDS seems like a great option in terms of reliability/build quality.

Anyone familiar with the “remote start” ready option on NNBS? Code AP8? Trying to figure what I need to install remote start.

Have to order a package from a dealer. Tech has to call gm technical assistance and have them enable the rpo code so it'll have the remote start as an option when reprogramming the module. I have ap8 and did it myself. Lol

Hmm. How much did it end up costing you in total?

Me 90 bucks because I ordered from another dealer who had it on a shelf an marked it down 40 percent. As to what a local one will charge to get the package and "labor" to install is another. Aftermarket will probably be cheaper

aftermarket will be cheaper. and my aftermarket, has better range, and easier to use then my wifes OEM.

also, just change the struts and paint the RCX lift. and by paint, i mean black,

Know of a reputable aftermarket brand that would utilize factory remote off the top of your head?

no.

just run the aftermarket remote, it will do your door locks, alarm, and remote start. not sure why you would want to keep the OEM fob.

I have had a viper for 8 years and never had an issue.

Because I have an Escalade remote I’d like to use and program to my truck.

well then your kinda stuck with the OEM setup.

Just so you know the range on the OEM ones sucks.

OEM range is horrible. Probably around 250-300’ or so. Have a viper that works double that or more. Been going strong with no issues for ~17 years.

Forget trying to use an Escalade remote and just go get an aftermarket system. The cost will be similar to the factory option you are looking at, but you will get way more features and range. Youll have options to all sorts of settings you can change- run time, light options and flashes, door unlock options (driver only vs all doors), and other options. Get it installed by a reputable shop and you shouldnt have any issues.

PS, I work in a shop that does these so pm me if you have any questions alecks
